A new startup called Supervised has launched today from stealth mode with the ambitious goal of transforming enterprise management using artificial intelligence. Founded by Adrien Treccani and Seamus Donoghue—the duo behind digital asset custody firm Metaco, which sold to Ripple for $250 million—Supervised is already in use at several Fortune 500 companies across financial services, technology, and manufacturing.

The startup aims to solve a fundamental structural issue in large organizations: the natural limit on how many direct reports a manager can handle. Typically capped at around 10, this limit forces companies to create layers of bureaucracy that slow down decision-making, increase costs, and trap knowledge in silos. Supervised claims its AI-driven platform can extend that manager span of control from 10 to 30, slashing decision timelines from weeks to days.

How Supervised Works

At the core of Supervised is a voice-based AI engine that captures, structures, and routes operational updates across teams in real time. The platform automates the kind of insight-gathering traditionally done through hours of meetings, reports, and Slack threads—freeing managers to focus on high-level decisions rather than being conduits for information.

“Managers today spend 30% of their time in status meetings. We automate that,” said CEO Adrien Treccani. “By removing this bottleneck, organizations can stay flat and move faster, even at scale.”

The platform acts as a real-time operational intelligence layer, capturing not just updates but also preserving institutional knowledge, improving governance, and reducing the risk of key-person dependency. This is especially relevant for regulated industries where compliance and audit trails are critical.

Built from Firsthand Scaling Experience

Treccani and Donoghue’s motivation for building Supervised came from their time scaling Metaco from a 10-person startup to a firm integrated within Ripple’s 1,000-employee structure.

“The biggest blocker to scaling wasn’t technology—it was management architecture,” Treccani noted. “We kept running into the same biological ceiling of 7-10 reports per manager. Once you cross that, companies start piling on layers, and agility is lost.”

Supervised aims to flatten organizational hierarchies without losing operational control—what the founders describe as “startup speed at enterprise scale.”

Strong Market Validation

While funding details remain undisclosed, Supervised is already being used by several major enterprise customers. Early adopters report:

  • Faster decision cycles
  • Reduced management overhead
  • Improved visibility and accountability
  • Stronger knowledge retention, especially during staff changes or organizational shifts
“We’re not just building a productivity tool,” said CCO Seamus Donoghue. “We’re creating a new model for how large organizations function—with AI as the glue between people, insights, and execution.”

A Perfect Storm for AI-Driven Management

The timing of Supervised’s launch aligns with several converging macro trends:

  • An aging workforce: As 40 million baby boomers approach retirement, organizations face a massive drain of institutional knowledge.
  • The rise of remote and flexible work: Knowledge sharing has become harder and more fragmented.
  • Contract-based labor: Freelancers and contractors often exit without knowledge transfer, leaving gaps.

According to Fast Company, U.S. firms lose over $30 billion annually due to knowledge loss. Meanwhile, the AI-powered knowledge management market is projected to hit $62 billion by 2033, growing at over 25% annually.

Supervised is tapping directly into this market by positioning its product as a system of record for human insight—one that evolves with the organization and adapts to the fluid nature of modern work.

The Road Ahead

With proven founders, enterprise traction, and a vision that resonates with current workplace realities, Supervised is poised to become a category-defining platform in enterprise AI.

“Every organization above 100 employees hits the same problem,” said Treccani. “You either evolve management—or your competitors will do it faster.”

For enterprises facing mounting complexity and slower response times, Supervised offers a compelling alternative: AI-enhanced decision-making, real-time operational clarity, and scalable leadership without bureaucracy.
