OPPO Kenya has quietly — and we mean really quietly — launched its most ambitious foldable yet, the OPPO Find N5, into the Kenyan market. While there’s no flashy event to accompany the launch, this phone is a beast, and it wants a piece of the premium foldable pie currently dominated by Samsung.
A Foldable for Those Who Like it Slim… and Expensive
Touted as the world’s slimmest foldable smartphone, the Find N5 arrives just five months after OPPO introduced the Find X8 in Kenya at KES 140,000. Now, they’re turning the dial all the way up with this new foldable that will cost you a heart-skipping KES 240,000. But hey — that price tag comes with serious bragging rights.
And yes, OPPO Kenya says the Find N5 is available countrywide in OPPO brandstores. If you’re feeling boujee, you can even ring them up via 0800 601171 to reserve one.
The timing couldn’t be more perfect. Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and if leaks are anything to go by, it might be rocking the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (Elite Edition) as the Find N5 — a fire-breathing chipset that makes last year’s silicon look like child’s play. It might also be coming for the Find N5’s crown with a thinner body, although all is still rumours for now. But while the Fold 7 is still on the horizon, OPPO’s immediate nemesis is the Galaxy Z Fold 6, not to mention the aggressively priced TECNO Phantom V Fold 2 already making waves in Kenya.
Still, the Find N5 isn’t just a pretty face. It’s slimmer, smarter, and packed with enough tech to make even the most diehard Samsung fans raise an eyebrow.

Is Kenya ready for a KES 240,000 OPPO phone?
It’s no secret that the Kenyan smartphone market loves midrange gems. But with the Find N5, OPPO is clearly betting on a potentially rising appetite for premium, do-it-all foldables among Kenya’s elite. Think entrepreneurs, content creators, the political class, and techies with cash to burn.
Compared to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 — which debuted at KES 264,000 and will likely be the price reference for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 — the Find N5 might actually seem like a deal (relatively speaking). And when you factor in its slimmer profile, top-tier performance, and generous storage, it becomes a real threat to the competition.
Still, it’s a bold move. TECNO is already pushing aggressively with the Phantom V Fold 2 at a more accessible price, and Samsung has brand loyalty on its side. But if OPPO plays its cards right — especially with marketing — the Find N5 could carve out a luxurious niche in Kenya’s foldable scene.
