Sophos has launched a new program, MSP Elevate, aimed at helping managed service providers (MSPs) deliver stronger cybersecurity services while scaling their business. The program, introduced on May 13, 2025, introduces a range of exclusive tools, training, and benefits that address core operational pain points for MSPs and bolster their ability to protect clients from today’s sophisticated cyber threats.
Why Sophos Created MSP Elevate
Cyberattacks are becoming more complex and frequent, pushing organizations to rely on MSPs for round-the-clock protection and response. Managed Detection and Response (MDR) has now become a major service offered by MSPs, with Sophos’ 2024 report indicating that 81% of MSPs offer MDR.
However, managing multiple cybersecurity platforms increases overhead and cuts into billable hours. Sophos reports that consolidating cybersecurity tools into a unified platform could reduce management time by up to 48%. MSP Elevate was created to resolve this by streamlining operations, improving service quality, and directly contributing to business growth.
What MSP Elevate Offers
Sophos describes the program as “business-accelerating,” with several built-in benefits:
1. Exclusive Access to Sophos MDR Bundle for MSPs
- Full access to Sophos MDR Complete, the premium tier of MDR service.
- Includes 24/7 incident response, one-year data retention, Sophos Network Detection and Response (NDR), and integration packs.
- All telemetry across customer environments is unified for faster detection and mitigation.
2. Simplified Sales and Deployment
- MSPs can assign a single SKU to a customer for both current and future MDR needs.
- This reduces friction during onboarding and makes service upgrades seamless.
3. Discounted Network-in-a-Box Bundles
- Discounted access to Sophos Firewall, Sophos Switch, and Wireless Access Points.
- All devices are managed through the Sophos Central platform, offering automated threat response across the network.
4. Rebates for Growth
- MSPs that increase their monthly Sophos billings will receive financial rewards.
- This incentivizes long-term partnerships and aligns vendor success with partner growth.
5. Advanced Training and Enablement
- Partners gain access to architect-level training for Sophos Endpoint and Sophos Firewall.
- These programs aim to build internal MSP expertise and reduce dependency on external support.
6. Invite-Only Access to Sophos Summits
- Opportunities for direct interaction with Sophos executives and product leaders.
- Hands-on labs, roadmap discussions, and strategy sessions.
7. Future-Ready Enhancements
- Sophos plans to introduce additional benefits aimed at increasing profitability and customer satisfaction.
Business Model and Eligibility
MSP Elevate is available to partners enrolled in the Sophos MSP Flex program, which supports monthly billing for services. A 12-month minimum spend commitment is required to access the benefits.
Crucially, MSPs have flexibility in how they use Sophos’ MDR services. While 80% of MSPs currently offer MDR through a specialized vendor, Sophos allows partners to choose between fully outsourcing MDR or integrating it with in-house teams for hybrid models, including after-hours coverage.
This flexibility is critical given that 88% of ransomware attacks now occur outside of standard business hours.
Strategic Impact After the Secureworks Merger
The launch of MSP Elevate follows Sophos’ acquisition of Secureworks in February 2025, forming what is now the largest standalone MDR provider globally. The integration combines Sophos’ security portfolio with Secureworks’ technologies like Taegis XDR and next-generation SIEM. Together, the companies now support over 28,000 organizations through their MDR services and defend over 600,000 businesses globally against evolving cyber threats.
Sophos leverages global threat intelligence from its Sophos X-Ops and Secureworks’ Counter Threat Unit (CTU) to continuously update customer defenses in real-time.
Industry Reception
Partners already onboard are optimistic. Craig Faiers, Sales Director at Arc, called the program a “no-brainer,” stating that MSP Elevate adds “rocket fuel” to the growth trajectory his business has experienced with Sophos over the past 17 years.
Sophos’ MDR service currently protects over 18,000 MSP-managed environments. These extensive deployments provide valuable insights into real-world attacks and enable continuous improvement of detection algorithms and defense mechanisms.
Final Thoughts
MSP Elevate represents a calculated response to what the market is demanding: a streamlined, high-impact, and growth-oriented cybersecurity framework for MSPs. At a time when cybersecurity threats are escalating and businesses are demanding more from service providers, Sophos is offering MSPs not just tools, but a platform for scalability, profitability, and relevance.
