Kenyan Galaxy A73 and Galaxy A55 Users Can Now Install One UI 7 (Android 15) Update

Hot on the heels of the recent One UI 7 rollout for the Galaxy A16 and A35, the Galaxy A73 5G and the Galaxy A55 5G are now also joining the Android 15 party.

If you’re rocking either of these two Galaxy A-series devices, it’s time to head over to your settings and hit that update button. One UI 7, paired with Android 15 and topped off with the May 2025 security patch, is officially rolling out in Kenya with firmware versions A736BXXUAFYE6 for the A73 5G and A556EXXU7BYDB for the A55 5G.

What’s New in One UI 7?

Samsung isn’t just tossing in a few tweaks and calling it a day—this update is packed. You’re getting a whole new visual vibe with smoother animations, curvier icons, and a cleaner interface that’s easier on the eyes. The home screen’s got a glow-up, with customizable widgets, adjustable icon sizes, and even better landscape orientation.

The lock screen has leveled up too. Meet the Now Bar—your new best friend for quickly checking timers, workout stats, and even voice recordings without unlocking your phone. And yes, the clock styles got more pizzazz as well.

With the One UI 7 update, Google Gemini is now just a button press away. Press and hold the side button, and boom—you’ve got a full-blown AI assistant ready to help plan your day, take notes, or even schedule that long-overdue haircut. You can now “Circle to Search” anything on your screen, and the AI will pull up what you need almost instantly. Hear a song and want to know the title? Gemini’s got your back. Want to annotate it in Samsung Notes while you’re at it? Done.

The camera app now has a snazzier layout, more intuitive mode switching, and new zoom controls that just make sense. Plus, if you’re the type who likes to tweak filters like a pro, you’re going to love the enhanced editing options—including custom filters based on your photo’s style.

The Samsung Health app now includes a Mindfulness section to help manage stress (because let’s be honest, life be life-ing). Security features are beefed up, with smarter theft protection, and the Auto Blocker now defends against shady networks like a digital bodyguard.

The One UI 7 train is clearly chugging along at full speed in Kenya. While the likes of Galaxy A15, Galaxy A25, Galaxy A34 and even the Galaxy A54 haven’t caught up just yet, they’re next in line. So if you’re on any recent Galaxy A-series device, keep an eye on our Galaxy A Series One UI 7 update tracker and start clearing some storage space now while at it, if not already.
