TECNO Mobile is back with another wallet-friendly smartphone for Kenyan buyers — say hello to the TECNO POP 10. Unveiled quietly with a teaser-filled week, the POP 10 has now officially entered the local market. It arrives hot on the heels of other budget debuts like the Infinix Smart 10, itel CITY 100, and Redmi A5, signaling an aggressive push in the entry-level smartphone segment.
While the name might be new to Kenya, the device certainly isn’t. A little digging (and some sharp-eyed comparisons) reveals that the POP 10 is a straight-up rebrand of the recently launched TECNO Spark Go 2 from India. The specs, the images, even the social media promo materials — they all line up perfectly.
Now, if you’ve seen the POP 10 already, you’ll agree with me — it really leans into that iPhone 16 aesthetic. Just look at the image above: the twin rear cameras aligned vertically, minimalist back design, and rounded corners scream “inspired.” And I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. In fact, for a budget phone, it’s a pretty sleek move.

What’s interesting, though, is TECNO Mobile Kenya’s approach. The company has been pushing out flashy POP 10 promos on social media but hasn’t published an official product page for the phone — a strange but increasingly common trend for its entry-level lineup. I scoured TECNO’s site and other regional listings, and still… nothing. Thankfully, since the Spark Go 2 is now public in other markets, we’ve got a reliable look at the specs.
Under the hood, the POP 10 is shaping up to be a solid daily driver for budget-conscious users. It packs a Unisoc T7250 (aka T615) chipset, a big 6.67-inch 120Hz display, and a respectable 5000mAh battery with 15W fast charging. Add to that Android 15 Go Edition (although early reviews suggest it comes with Android 14 Go) and IP64 dust/water resistance, and TECNO has a compelling offering.

Pricing in Kenya is yet to be confirmed, but going by its ~₦105,000 price tag in Nigeria for the base model and ~₦115,000 for the 4/128GB model, we’re probably looking at around KES 9,000–11,000 when it drops in local stores.
If you’re after an affordable phone that doesn’t look cheap, the TECNO POP 10 is definitely worth a look.
