When I packed my bag for the 2025 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) football finals in Mumias, I didn’t carry a DSLR. I had something lighter, the Infinix Note 50S 5G in Titanium Grey, and I trusted it to capture everything. From the roaring crowd to the fast-paced action on the pitch, this was its moment to shine.
This isn’t just a recap of an incredible sports weekend. It’s a real-world camera test, told in pixels — the wins, the noise, and even the chaos. All photos and videos featured here were captured on the Note 50S 5G, and I’ve uploaded the full-resolution album on Google Drive for you to see just how it held up.
Mumias Complex Before the Storm
The sun was high, energy was rising, and fans were streaming into the stadium. The Note 50S 5G handled the outdoor lighting beautifully with no overblown skies and no crushed shadows. Just a clean, natural balance that caught the mood.

The match hadn’t even kicked off, and the stands were vibrating with life. From singing fans to impromptu dances and vendors weaving through the aisles selling njugu, water, sweets, and ice cream — the atmosphere was peak Kenyan football.

Kick-Off & Match Moments
Now, this was tricky — the action was fast, the sun intense, and I wasn’t on the sidelines. But surprisingly, the Note 50S 5G didn’t falter. It captured clean motion shots, good color tone, and didn’t wash out the bright whites of jerseys.

I tried to live-tweet some of these plays, by the way — but that’s a whole different story (spoiler: the network failed miserably).
The Scary Bit: Chaos & Teargas
I didn’t fully capture this part. And I don’t regret it.
Near the end of the girls final between Butere Girls and Madira Girls, things got tense in the stands. Police lobbed teargas into a section of the crowd. Panic set in. People scrambled. I was near the front and, with nowhere to run, I jumped over a mesh wire fence onto the pitch to escape a potential stampede.
I had teargas in my eyes, adrenaline in my legs, and survival on my mind. The phone stayed in my pocket, and that’s probably why it survived, too.
Leaving the Stadium: A Wave of People, Bikes & Horns
I left right after the final whistle of the boys’ final (JOBO vs Musingu), hoping to beat the boda and foot traffic. Even then, I managed to snap a few shots of the overwhelming wave of fans leaving the venue.

I didn’t edit any of these photos (only the ones uploaded in this article are compressed). What you see is what the Infinix Note 50S 5G gave me. If you spot yourself in one of them, feel free to drop a comment below.
Final Thoughts
This phone impressed me with its daylight camera performance and reliability even in chaotic, fast-paced environments like a national football final. If you’re wondering whether the Infinix Note 50S 5G is up to the task of documenting real-life events — well, you’re looking at the answer.
