These Redmi Phones Will Stop Receiving Updates at HyperOS 3, No Android 16

Xiaomi has recently dropped some bittersweet news: a bunch of its Redmi, POCO, and even flagship devices will stop receiving updates at HyperOS 3 (based on Android 15) and never taste Android 16 update. That means one last big update is on the way, but after that, your phone’s major software journey ends.

HyperOS 3 arrives in September with a design refresh inspired by Apple’s “liquid glass” look, a more customizable control center, and plenty of system polish. Think of it as a farewell gift before Android 16 leaves your phone behind. But don’t take it too personally because this is just how the Android world works. Phones usually get just a few years of big updates before they’re retired from the software fast lane. Still, when it’s your own phone on the list, it stings a little.

Redmi Phones Tapping Out after HyperOS 3 Update

Since Redmi phones are officially sold in Kenya and Africa, this list will matter most to local users. These models will stop at HyperOS 3 update based on Android 15:
