Google Photos App Now Lets You Create Stickers from Your Photos

If you’ve ever envied your iPhone friends for their ability to magically lift a subject out of a photo and turn it into a sticker, well, Google Photos is finally catching up… but only on iOS.

A new feature spotted by Telegram user AdanBR (and demonstrated in a short clip first seen by Android Authority) shows just how seamless it is. You simply press and hold on a subject in Google Photos, and it pops right out, ready to be copied or shared as a sticker. No extra steps, no fiddling with editing apps, just instant sticker magic.

It’s a small but delightful addition, especially for people who live inside their chat apps and like to add a personal touch with custom stickers. Whether it’s your dog looking majestic, a funny face from last weekend’s party, or your favorite snack — they can all become stickers with a single tap-and-hold.

Now, here’s the catch: this nifty feature is currently exclusive to iOS. Yes, Android users, you’re left on the sidelines again. Some Android skins, like Samsung’s One UI, already let you pull off similar tricks, but stock Google Photos on Android doesn’t. At least not yet.

The iOS version isn’t as feature-rich as Apple’s native Photos app, which has fancy extras like “Add Sticker” for saving subjects permanently or slapping on effects such as Outline, Comic, or Puffy. Google Photos keeps it simple — copy or share. Still, it’s better than nothing, and it’s a step in the right direction.

So, will Android ever get the same love? For sure, but Google hasn’t said a word. If you’re on iOS, enjoy flexing your new sticker superpowers. And if you’re on Android… well, maybe poke your iPhone friends and borrow theirs when you need a custom sticker fix.
