Vivo V60 5G Set to Launch in Kenya with 50MP Zeiss Cameras and 6,500mAh Battery

-Ad-

Just as Kenyan smartphone users are getting acquainted with the Vivo V50 series, the company is already teasing its successor. The Vivo V60 5G is officially on its way to Kenya, and it’s not just an incremental update. With a massive 6500 mAh battery, a brand-new Snapdragon processor, and a sophisticated ZEISS camera system, the V60 5G looks poised to be a significant leap forward.

That’s right, the V60 is officially “coming soon” to Kenya, and if the specs are anything to go by, it’s a beast. If you just recently got your hands on a Vivo V50 5G, we feel you, this is a quick turnaround! But hey, who are we to complain about getting the latest and greatest tech?

So, what’s all the fuss about? Let’s break it down.

A Quick Global Recap

The Vivo V60 5G only launched globally in August 2025. India, Malaysia, and other markets have already had their moment. Now, Kenya is next in line. Some local retailers, like MobileHub Kenya, are so confident about the hype that they’re already taking pre-orders with just a KES 4,999 deposit. So yes, the phone is very much on the way.

A Camera That Will Make Your Friends Green with Envy

The Vivo V60 is packing some serious heat in the camera department, thanks to a collaboration with ZEISS. We’re talking a triple-threat setup on the back: a 50MP main camera with OIS (that’s Optical Image Stabilization for buttery-smooth shots), a 50MP super telephoto lens for those crispy zoom shots, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera to fit the whole squad in the frame. And for all you selfie lovers, the front boasts a 50MP group selfie camera. Your Instagram feed is about to get a major upgrade.

Power for Days

Under the hood, the V60 is powered by the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, which means you can expect a seriously smooth and speedy performance, whether you’re gaming, streaming, or just endlessly scrolling through TikTok. But the real showstopper is the massive 6500 mAh battery. And when you finally do run out of juice, the 90W fast charging will get you back in the game in no time.

There’s no wireless charging, though. But you get Vivo’s Funtouch OS 15 on top of Android 15, complete with AI tricks like Magic Move, AI Smart Call Assistant, and even Google Gemini baked right in.

Built to Survive the Kenyan Hustle

Let’s be real, life in Kenya can be an adventure. That’s why the V60 comes with an IP68 and IP69 rating, which means it’s dust and water-resistant. So, whether you’re caught in an unexpected downpour or get a little too close to the action at your next festival, your phone should be just fine.

A Display That’s a Feast for the Eyes

The V60 features a stunning 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a wild 5,000-nits peak brightness, which translates to vibrant colors and super-smooth scrolling. Also, you’ll still see your screen clearly under Nairobi’s midday sun. It’s perfect for binging your favourite shows or getting lost in your favourite mobile games.

So, When Can You Get Your Hands on It?

This is the million-shilling question, isn’t it? While Vivo Kenya’s social media is buzzing with “coming soon” teasers, we don’t have an official launch date or price just yet. However, based on the Indian launch and other online whispers, we can expect the price to be in the ballpark of KES 60,000 to KES 70,000. Its predecessor, the Vivo V50 5G, made its debut in Kenya priced at KES 69,999.
