After teasing us at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, TECNO has now fully unwrapped the TECNO Spark Slim alongside the POVA Slim, two devices that pack a surprising punch inside unbelievably thin frames in what is becoming the new smartphone trend.
At first glance, the new duo could easily be mistaken for the recently launched iPhone Air, with their sleek flat edges, symmetrical bezels, and horizontally aligned dual cameras at the back. But unlike Apple’s and Samsung’s luxury models, these new TECNOs are aimed squarely at budget-conscious buyers who want premium design cues without the eye-watering price tag of the iPhone Air.

Shared DNA: Same Slim Look, Same Stunning Display
Both handsets come with a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED display pushing a 144Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution (1224 × 2720). That’s a panel spec you’d normally expect on flagships costing three or four times more. TECNO even went big on brightness with up to 4,500 nits peak and 1,600 nits in high brightness mode, with Gorilla Glass 7i protection on top.
Flip them over, and you’ll spot a 50MP main shooter plus supporting depth/flash sensors, while the front is home to a 13MP selfie camera. Both also feature TECNO’s Mood Light LED system to spice up your shots.
Powering things is where the differences start to show.
Spark Slim: The 4G Crowd-Pleaser

The Spark Slim runs on the new MediaTek Helio G200 processor with 4G connectivity. You get 8GB RAM (plus memory fusion to 16GB) and up to 256GB storage. The slimness is crazy at just 5.93mm thin and weighing 156g, making it one of the sleekest Androids you can buy today.
It ships in Sky Blue, Slim White, and Cool Black and keeps everything running with a 5160mAh battery and 45W fast charging.
POVA Slim: The 5G Boost

The POVA Slim steps things up with a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 5G+ processor, meaning you’re future-proofed with faster data speeds. It offers 128GB or 256GB storage, paired with the same 8GB+8GB extended RAM trick.
TECNO packed in more sensors here, including an under-display fingerprint reader, compass, and ambient light sensors. It’s still impossibly slim at 5.95mm and just as light as the Spark. Colors include Slim White and Cool Black, with an extra Sky Blue option.
Both phones feature dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, a large vapor cooling chamber that you won’t find in the iPhone Air, infrared remote control support, and IP64 splash resistance. And yes, they both run the latest Android 15 out of the box.

iPhone Air & Galaxy S25 Edge Vibes, But Cheaper
While the iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge grab global headlines with their slimness and style, they’re not exactly accessible in Kenya (or much of Africa). That’s where TECNO slides in smartly. The Spark Slim and POVA Slim are early examples of budget Androids adopting flagship design language, a trend we’re likely to see more of in 2026.
Spark Slim and POVA Slim Pricing & Availability
TECNO hasn’t revealed how much the Spark Slim and POVA Slim will cost or when exactly they’ll hit the Kenyan market. But given TECNO’s history of aggressive pricing, expect them to come in far cheaper than their Apple and Samsung lookalikes.
Stay tuned for local availability and pricing updates. We’ll have the details the moment TECNO confirms them.
