Samsung is finally rolling out the stable One UI 8 update to the Galaxy S25 series, starting with South Korea, and the good news is that other regions are quickly catching up. Now, Brazil has become the first market outside Korea to get a detailed One UI 8 update timeline, and this could give us a pretty good idea of when Kenyan users might see the update land on their own Galaxy devices.
According to Samsung’s Brazilian newsroom, the update starts as early as September 18 for the Galaxy S25 family and continues through October for older flagships, midrangers, and tablets. The schedule even goes week by week, showing us how the rollout will unfold. Here’s the breakdown:

Now, before you start spamming the “Check for Updates” button on your Galaxy, let’s slow down a bit. This timeline is specifically for Brazil, and while it gives us a strong hint, it doesn’t mean your Kenyan Galaxy device will get the update on the exact same date. Software updates are a little like Nairobi weather — promising sunshine, then hitting you with a sudden rainstorm. Things can change quickly!
That said, if Samsung is pushing updates in Brazil in September and October, there’s a good chance we’ll see a similar timeline here in Kenya and across other markets.
At Techish Kenya, we’ll be tracking the rollout closely and will keep an One UI 8 Update Tracker so you’ll always know when your Galaxy device is next in line for the Android 16-based goodness.
And hey, if you’re reading this from outside Kenya and you’re wondering about your own market, feel free to drop us a comment. We’re more than happy to check and let you know whether One UI 8 has landed on your device yet.
