After weeks of testing, Xiaomi has finally dropped the official HyperOS 3 roadmap for China. Notice I said “for China.” The rollout hasn’t started yet, and for us in Kenya and the wider global market, updates usually arrive weeks (sometimes months) later.
And that’s where things get interesting, because while your friend in Beijing with a Redmi Note 13 Pro will be smiling in December, you in Nairobi might not see the same update until January 2026 (if you’re lucky).
The HyperOS 3 update roadmap (China first, global later)
Here’s the official timeline for China. For global devices, including those sold in Kenya, add at least a few weeks’ delay on top.

The big story here isn’t the fancy Xiaomi 15 Ultra or MIX Fold series. They’ll get their updates early, but you’ll rarely see those phones in Kenya.
The real story is that the Redmi Note 13, Redmi Note 14, and even the likes of Redmi 14C, all the familiar devices flooding Kenyan shelves, won’t see HyperOS 3 update until January 2026 globally. That’s a long wait for the very phones that define Xiaomi’s presence in Africa and many other markets outside China.
Until then, check out the features the HyperOS 3 update brings.
