If you’re rocking a Samsung Galaxy in Kenya, chances are you’re either feeling smug about being up to date or side-eyeing your phone wondering why it’s still stuck on an older security patch.
Samsung has started rolling out the September 2025 security patch, and yes, Kenyan units are in on the action. As of today, here’s the lineup of phones already basking in that fresh, patched-up glow:
- Galaxy A54
- Galaxy A53
- Galaxy A06 4G
- Galaxy S25 series (tagging along with the big One UI 8 / Android 16 update)
- Galaxy S23 series
- Galaxy S22 series
- Galaxy Z Fold 4
So, if you’re holding one of those, congrats! Your phone just got a little safer. Everyone else? Still chilling on the August patch (or worse).
Now, before you rush to complain, some of Samsung’s flashiest phones, among them the Z Fold 6, Fold 5, Flip 6, and Flip 5, are still on August patch. But there’s a good reason. These foldables are waiting for the big One UI 8 update that not only brings Android 16 goodies but also folds in (pun intended) the September security patch. Basically, instead of pushing a boring standalone patch, Samsung is saving the fireworks for the full upgrade.
In typical Samsung fashion, the rollout is staggered. That means some devices in Kenya are already updated, while others may have to wait a few more days for that “Update Available” notification to hit.
Pro tip: If you’re feeling impatient, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Sometimes, poking your phone actually works.
