Samsung Galaxy S25 series users in Kenya are finally getting a taste of One UI 8, the company’s latest software based on Android 16. The update, which started rolling out in Korea last week, has now hit local devices, complete with the September 1, 2025 security patch.

What’s new in One UI 8

Samsung isn’t holding back on this one. The update brings a mix of fresh design tweaks, productivity tools, and a heavy dose of Galaxy AI magic. Some highlights include:

  • Call captions in real time so you can follow conversations on screen.
  • Portrait Studio for pets, turning your cat or dog photos into fisheye, oil painting, or other fun styles.
  • Audio Eraser, which cleans up wind or background noise in your recordings.
  • Now brief, a new feed of personalized updates and info accessible from your Now bar or Edge panel.
  • Emergency alert translation, so you won’t miss life-saving messages in another language.
  • Faster, smarter Galaxy AI tools for translations, summaries, and selections.
  • A redesigned lock screen clock and new interactive wallpapers for more personalization.
  • Quick Share upgrades, sticky notes in Samsung Notes, and easier file downloads.
  • A revamped Samsung Internet browser and even a scientific calculator in portrait view.
  • DeX improvements, smarter multitasking, upgraded reminders and calendar integration.
  • Deeper Samsung Health features, from a running coach to antioxidant tracking with new Galaxy Watches.
  • Camera boosts like exposure monitors and Log video recording for pro-level editing.
  • Tighter security and privacy tools with Knox Matrix and an enhanced Secure Folder.

…and that’s just scratching the surface. Samsung packed in dozens of smaller tweaks across accessibility, notifications, alarms, weather visuals, and more. You can check out the full changelog here.
