TECNO September software update rolling out to a slew of phones: Did yours make the cut?

TECNO has quietly updated its software updates page with a long list of its budget and mid-range smartphones that picked up new updates during the month of September 2025. If you own one of their recent POP, Spark, Camon, or POVA devices, there’s a good chance you’re covered.

While some brands drag their feet with updates, TECNO has clearly been on a mission this past few months. From entry-level phones to beefy performance models, the company has refreshed dozens of devices with the latest Android security fixes, tightening privacy and patching potential vulnerabilities.

Here’s a quick snapshot of every TECNO device that got an update in September 2025:

TECNO pushed patches to more than 20 phone models, covering both 4G and 5G variants across several generations.

Sure, security updates may not be as flashy as new features, but they’re arguably more important. These patches close loopholes that hackers could exploit, protect your data, and keep your device running smoothly. For a brand that’s massively popular in Kenya and across Africa, this level of follow-through sends a strong message: TECNO wants to shake off the old stereotype of “buy and forget updates.”

If you own any of the models above and haven’t seen a notification yet:

  1. Head to Settings
  2. Tap System or Software Update
  3. Check for the latest update manually

Make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi and have enough battery before starting the update.

With Android 16 rolling out and brands gearing up for new device launches, keeping older phones secure is a win for both users and the brand. TECNO’s September update list is one of the most extensive we’ve seen from them, and that’s worth celebrating.

Did your TECNO make the cut? If not, don’t panic just yet. Some devices don’t receive monthly updates, so yours might be next.
