Samsung may be keeping quiet on the official software update page, but the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S24 series is already here.
While the local update tracker hasn’t been refreshed with the new details, reliable sources like SamMobile and SamFrew confirm that the firmware is live and ready for manual download. So, if your Galaxy S24, S24+ or S24 Ultra hasn’t nudged you with an OTA update notification, you can still grab the update yourself.
The rollout doesn’t come as a surprise. One UI 8 based on Android 16 started making its way to users in other regions a few days ago, and Kenya has now officially joined the party. The update is rolling out as firmware version S9xxBXXU9CYI5
and tags along September 2025 security patch and all the new Android 16 and One UI 8 features you’ve been waiting for.
But the S24 lineup isn’t celebrating alone. Samsung has also pushed the One UI 8 update to several other devices locally, including:
- Galaxy S25 series
- Galaxy Z Fold 6
- Galaxy Z Flip 6
- Galaxy A56
- Galaxy A36
Not sure if your device is next?
We’re keeping tabs on every rollout as it happens. Check out our One UI 8 update tracker to see which devices in Kenya have picked up the update and which ones are next in line.
If your S24 hasn’t shown the update yet, head to Settings → Software Update to manually check, or grab the firmware from trusted sources if you’re comfortable flashing.
