TECNO has quietly joined the Kenyan e-commerce party with the launch of its own official online store. If you’ve always had to rely on Jumia, Kilimall, or that random shop in town to buy a TECNO device, there’s now a new, more direct option: ke-store.tecno.com.
The company only recently started promoting the platform, which confirms it’s a fresh rollout. And honestly, it’s about time. Kenyans have been buying TECNO devices for over a decade. The brand might as well give us a proper online home.
So, how does it work?
You browse the site, pick your favourite phone, laptop, earphone, smartwatch or accessory, choose specs like colour or storage, add it to your cart (yes, you can add multiple items), and check out. But for now, there’s no home delivery. Once you place an order, the device is shipped to a designated TECNO shop of your choosing somewhere in the country. You then go and pick it up in person.
Basically, it’s click-and-collect, not quite a full e-commerce experience yet. TECNO says doorstep delivery and address-based shipping are “coming soon”, so fingers crossed they hire riders and complete that loop.
You’ll need to create an account to shop or track orders. During checkout, you can choose device colour, storage configuration, and quantity. Discounts and offers are displayed clearly too. For example, the TECNO Spark 40 Pro+ currently shows a KES 1,000 cashback coupon and the exact validity period. That’s a big plus for transparency.
However, some sections of the checkout process are still partially written in Chinese, which may confuse some customers. Not shocking given the company’s roots, but it needs cleaning up for a Kenyan audience.
Payment is still stuck in the past
At the moment, you cannot pay via M-Pesa, Airtel Money, card, or bank. The only option is to pay when you pick up the device at your chosen TECNO shop. That’s… less convenient than what most online shoppers expect in 2025, especially in Kenya, where mobile money is king.
Online payments will need to be added urgently if TECNO wants wide adoption.
Device financing? Yes. But read this carefully
TECNO has partnered with Mogo and OnFon Mobile to offer device installments. You can get a phone with:
- OnFon Mobile: 20% deposit
- Mogo: 27% deposit
- Flexible repayment over 6, 9, or 12 months

BUT, and this is important, our previous investigation into OnFon Mobile exposed how their installment plans can massively inflate device prices. If you missed that breakdown, catch up here. Proceed with caution before signing up for any “convenient” plan.
So… is this a big deal? Absolutely. For the first time, Kenyans can buy TECNO devices online directly from the brand instead of relying entirely on third-party retailers. It’s not perfect, but it’s a strong starting point. Once payment integration and doorstep delivery go live, this could become a serious hub for TECNO fans.
For now? It’s progress, with room for polish. Let’s see how TECNO builds on it.
