One UI 8 lands on Galaxy A34, A26 and A15 5G in East Africa

Samsung isn’t slowing down. Barely hours after we reported that the Galaxy A35 picked up the Android 16-based One UI 8 update in the region, the Galaxy A34 5G, Galaxy A26 5G and Galaxy A15 5G are now joining the party across AFR/USC firmware markets in East Africa.

If you own either of these devices and your firmware CSC is AFR, the update is officially live. Here are the confirmed firmware versions now rolling out:

  • Galaxy A34 5G → A346EXXUAEYI7
  • Galaxy A26 5G → A266BXXU4BYI2
  • Galaxy A15 5G → A156EDXU6DYIA

And this isn’t just a Kenya thing. The rollout applies to users in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Seychelles, Djibouti, and, for the Galaxy A15 5G and Galaxy A26 5G, Somalia is also part of the coverage.

But before you start mashing the “Software update” button…

This is an OTA rollout, and Samsung is doing it in classic slow-drip fashion. The firmware builds were only uploaded to Samsung’s servers today, October 6, which means the update notification may not hit your phone immediately. Some users will see it sooner than others, depending on how Samsung staggers the rollout.

If you don’t see the update yet, you’re not being punished. It just hasn’t reached your specific unit in the queue. A manual check via Settings > Software update > Download and install is worth a try, though.

Another win for the AFR region

Just like with the recent One UI 8 updates for the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold/Flip 5 and 4, Galaxy S24 FE, and the A35, Samsung is sticking to its rollout pattern of treating the AFR region as a single block, which means multiple East African markets are getting upgraded in one swoop.

So yes, if you’re in Nairobi, Kigali, Addis Ababa, Kampala, Dar es Salaam, Goma, Khartoum, Victoria, Djibouti City or even Mogadishu, One UI 8 is officially en route.

Once more devices join the list, we’ll keep updating our One UI 8 tracker so you don’t have to keep guessing who’s next in line.
