OPPO Kenya has officially opened pre-orders for its latest midrange contenders, the OPPO A6 Pro 4G and A6 Pro 5G, just weeks after the device made its global debut. This launch follows the initial release in China last month, where the A6 series arrived with a slightly different spec sheet.
Kenyan consumers can now reserve either the 4G or the 5G variant, but will have to dig deeper into their pockets compared to last year’s models. The OPPO A6 Pro 4G is priced at KES 35,999, a notable KES 6,000 increase from its predecessor, the A5 Pro. The new 5G model pushes the price even higher, coming in at KES 41,999. Both models are configured with a generous 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, and they include free OPPO Enco Buds, a year of screen and liquid protection plans.

While they look identical on the outside, the key differences are under the hood, and it’s not just about network connectivity.
OPPO is heavily marketing the A6 Pro’s durability and power, highlighting features like a “5 Years-Durable” battery, blazing-fast 80W SUPERVOOC charging, and a rugged IP69 rating for water and dust resistance. The device also boasts Military-Grade Shock Resistance, a vibrant 120Hz AMOLED display, and a SuperCool VC System for thermal management during intense tasks like gaming and long video recording.
However, buyers need to pay close attention to the specs sheet. The most advertised feature, the massive 7,000mAh battery, is exclusive to the 4G model. The OPPO A6 Pro 5G, despite being the more expensive option, comes with a smaller 6,500mAh battery. This is a critical distinction for potential customers weighing their options.
There is no official word yet on the standard OPPO A6, but it is expected to launch in the country at a later date, similar to the staggered release of the previous A5 series.

The OPPO A6 Pro duo looks to blend rugged durability with mid-range performance and long-lasting battery life, something not often seen at this price. However, buyers should note that the Kenyan variants differ from the Chinese models, particularly in chipset performance.
Still, with its bright AMOLED display, 80W fast charging, IP69 protection, and large battery, the A6 Pro 4G and 5G should easily appeal to Kenyans looking for a reliable everyday device with some flagship-grade endurance features.
