TECNO Spark Slim set for launch in Kenya as pre-orders go live in Uganda and Ghana

Back in March, TECNO made headlines when it unveiled the Spark Slim, touted at the time as the world’s slimmest 3D-curved smartphone at just 5.93mm thick, despite housing a massive 5,200mAh battery. At the time, the company described it as a concept device and a technological showcase that seemed too bold to actually ship.

Fast forward to September, and TECNO made good on its promise by officially launching not only the Spark Slim but also the POVA Slim, confirming full specifications, AI features, and the brand’s intent to merge fashion and performance in a single device. Now, the Spark Slim is finally inching closer to store shelves in Kenya and other African markets.

In Uganda and Ghana, the device is already available for pre-order, signaling that regional availability is just around the corner. In Ghana, pre-orders opened on October 27 and will run until November 4, after which the phone is expected to go on sale officially. Customers can secure a unit by depositing GHS 200, which earns them GHS 100 off the retail price, plus gifts such as a wireless power bank and a limited-edition AFCON-themed case. In Uganda, TECNO is offering a similar promotion where a UGX 20,000 deposit grants buyers Buds 4 Air and a phone case as pre-order gifts. The Spark Slim will retail at UGX 829,000 and GHS 2,619, prices that translate to roughly KES 31,000, suggesting the Kenyan model could launch at around KES 30,000.

TECNO SPARK Slim Unveiled as the World’s Thinnest Smartphone With a 5,200mAh Battery at MWC 2025

Meanwhile in Kenya, TECNO has already published the official Spark Slim product page on its website, a strong indicator that the local launch is imminent. The company has yet to announce a specific date or pricing, but with the product now live on its Kenyan portal, the release should follow soon.

Mega Promo!

Slim, stylish, and surprisingly capable

The TECNO Spark Slim measures just 5.93mm at its thinnest point, making it not only the slimmest phone in TECNO’s lineup but also one of the thinnest smartphones ever produced. It features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and despite its delicate appearance, the phone has passed military-grade shock resistance tests and offers IP64 dust and water resistance.

Under the hood, the phone runs Android 15 and is powered by the MediaTek Helio G200 processor, paired with 16GB RAM (8GB physical + 8GB extended) and 256GB of internal storage, plus 20GB of cloud storage free for three years. TECNO promises smooth performance with its 5-year lasting fluency guarantee, certified by TÜV for long-term reliability.

Powering all this is a 5160mAh battery with 45W Super Charging, capable of going from 0–100% in under an hour. TECNO also claims the battery can retain over 80% capacity after five years of daily use, which is impressive for such a slim device.

AI at the core of the Spark Slim

The Spark Slim isn’t just about looks. It’s also a showcase for TECNO’s latest AI-driven features. Users get Ask Ella, TECNO’s in-house AI assistant; AI Eraser 2.0 for removing unwanted objects from photos; AI Image Extender for expanding photo frames; and AI Writing for generating, proofreading, or summarizing text. The device even supports Circle to Search powered by Google, AI call translation, and AI call noise cancellation, blending TECNO’s own software with Google’s AI ecosystem.

There’s also a focus on practical tools like FreeLink, which enables direct voice communication between two phones over Bluetooth without cellular signal, useful in remote or low-network areas. Other features include infrared remote control, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, and dual system mode for added privacy.

The camera setup is led by a 50MP main sensor and a 13MP selfie camera, supported by TECNO’s AI RAW domain algorithm for better low-light and HDR imaging.

A fusion of design and endurance

From its “Mood Light Design“, where circular LED rings around the camera pulse for notifications and calls, to its 3D curved body finished in Slim White or Cool Black, the Spark Slim blends technology with a sense of fashion. It’s clearly aimed at users who want something stylish yet durable, a phone that stands out visually without compromising on performance or practicality.

With its upcoming release in Kenya, TECNO appears ready to redefine what a mid-range phone can look like, and how much tech it can fit into a body barely thicker than a pencil.
