Voting is now open for the 2025 Esports Awards, and among the global giants competing for recognition this year is a name familiar to Kenyan gamers — Infinix. The smartphone maker has been nominated in the Esports Commercial Partner of the Year category, going head-to-head with heavyweights like DHL, Mastercard, PepsiCo, Red Bull, Shopify, Logitech G, Mobil 1, VISA, Zenni, and Intel.
The Esports Awards is one of the industry’s most prestigious platforms, celebrating excellence across competitive gaming. From pro players and streamers to publishers and sponsors, it recognizes those pushing esports culture forward. Voting is open until November 12, 2025, with fans encouraged to “vote today and every day” to support their favorites.

Infinix’s growing esports footprint
Infinix’s nomination is a testament to its deepening involvement in gaming, not just as a smartphone brand, but as a key player in shaping Africa’s esports scene. Over the past year, the company has invested heavily in regional and continental tournaments, notably through its PUBG Mobile partnerships.
Earlier this year, Infinix teamed up with PUBG Mobile for local events aimed at spotlighting mobile gaming talent. The company also took part in Otamatsuri 2025 at KICC Nairobi, one of the country’s biggest gaming and anime festivals, where its gaming-focused devices were showcased to a growing community of mobile gamers. Most recently, Infinix sponsored the PUBG Mobile Africa Cup Finals, a continental showdown that underscored its long-term vision of positioning Africa as a serious player in the global esports ecosystem.
While brands like Safaricom are increasingly entering the gaming space through hosting events like the African Gaming Conference in Nairobi, it’s Infinix that has broken through to global recognition this year. Its nomination alongside established sponsors like Intel and Red Bull cements its position as one of the few African-linked companies making waves on the international esports stage.
For Kenya and Africa at large, Infinix’s nod at the Esports Awards highlights the region’s growing importance in global gaming culture. The company’s focus on high-performance, affordable smartphones designed with gamers in mind — such as the GT series — has made competitive gaming more accessible to millions across emerging markets.
As voting continues ahead of the November 12th deadline, Infinix’s inclusion in the 2025 Esports Awards isn’t just a win for the brand. It’s a symbolic milestone for the African gaming community, signaling that the continent’s contribution to global esports is finally being recognized.
