Following the buzz created by the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Ring, it was only a matter of time before competitors jumped into the smart ring space. And now, one of the first budget-friendly options has arrived. The Infinix AI Ring has officially launched in Kenya, priced competitively at just KES 8,999. This is the same price as the Infinix AI Buds, which arrived in the country last month priced at KES 8,999.

Infinix, which had unveiled the ring earlier this year, is now making it available locally, positioning it as an attractive and much cheaper alternative to its higher-priced rivals. The ring promises to merge advanced technology with a stylish design, all “Empowered by Infinix AI.”

All-day health tracking, stress management, and a full week of battery

The primary focus of the AI Ring is comprehensive health and fitness monitoring. The device is built around tracking four core metrics, all viewable via the My Health APP:

  • Sleep tracking: Offers in-depth analysis to help users optimize sleep patterns.
  • Heart rate tracking: Continuously monitors heart rate and alerts users to irregularities.
  • Blood oxygen tracking: Provides real-time insights into oxygen supply status.
  • Stress tracking: Analyzes professional data like Heart Rate Variability (HRV) to accurately sense stress spikes.

For fitness enthusiasts, the ring also functions as a Fitness Mate, effortlessly tracking workouts like running and yoga to help users optimize their journey with detailed data.

However, one of the most impressive features is the battery life. Infinix touts 7 days of usage on a single charge, with the transparent charging case extending total usage up to seven additional cycles, making it a perfect companion for travel. A full recharge takes around 1.5 hours.

Stylish, durable, and feature-packed

Crafted from premium stainless steel, the AI Ring is designed for all-day comfort. It is lightweight, with sizes ranging from 3.3g (Size 7) to 4.0g (Size 12), and is built to be durable and maintain its shine effortlessly. Crucially, the ring is rated 5 ATM Daily Waterproof, meaning it can be worn for swimming and bathing without issue.

The official specs confirm:

  • Material: Stainless steel
  • Waterproof: 5 ATM
  • Battery: 15mAh or 18mAh for larger sizes (Ring) / 250mAh (Case)
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.2
  • Weight: 3.3g – 4.0g
  • Sizes: 6 sizes (7 – 12)

In a nod to convenience, the Infinix AI Ring also features a clever gesture control for photography. Users can pinch their fingers to capture photos effortlessly, though this feature is currently limited to the photo-taking function within the My Health app.

With smart rings still being a niche category in Kenya, Infinix’s pricing strategy could make the AI Ring an accessible entry point for users curious about wearable health tech beyond smartwatches and fitness bands.

For consumers who’ve been waiting to try out the smart ring form factor without Galaxy Ring-level pricing, Infinix’s latest wearable now gives them a compelling local option.
