LOOP, the digital banking and payments app, has introduced a major UI update that brings a refreshed design, improved navigation, and enhanced functionality. This is the first significant revamp since January 2023, a redesign that was met with many negative reactions. Over the past year, LOOP has worked extensively to refine its platform, and this latest update reflects those improvements in a strong way.
Users across both Android and iOS have received notifications about the update via in-app messages and SMS alerts, encouraging them to explore the improved user experience. The latest changes focus on making financial transactions simpler and faster while ensuring users can easily manage their money.
What’s New in LOOP’s Updated UI?
The February 2025 update introduces a cleaner, more intuitive look while maintaining the app’s core banking and payment functions. The major changes include improvements to the home screen, better organization of financial tools, and a streamlined transaction process.
A New Home Page Structure: The PAY Tab
The biggest shift is that the home screen is now the PAY tab. At the top of this section, users can clearly see their bank balance and wallet balance. Below this, new buttons make it easier to deposit funds, access overdrafts, view saved cards, and check a full statement quickly. These improvements allow users to navigate key banking features without unnecessary steps.
The PAY tab also features clearly outlined quick actions, including Lipa na M-Pesa, Pay LOOP Biz, Send Money, and Standing Orders. Users also have direct access to bill payments for services like the Nairobi Expressway, KPLC, and flight bookings. This makes it easier to find things that were previously spread across multiple pages or menus.
A More Streamlined Discover Tab
LOOP has revamped the Discover tab, ensuring that it is more intuitive and easy to navigate. It now features a distinct color theme, making it instantly recognizable. Deals are categorized by merchant type, allowing users to find offers that suit their needs faster. The right-side three-dot menu provides quick access to Deals, Points, and the Wishlist. This reorganization makes it easier for users to track rewards and take advantage of available discounts.
Better Organization in the Grow Tab
The Grow tab has undergone a significant transformation, making it more functional for users managing savings, investments, and loans. At the top of this section, users can instantly see their loans and outstanding balances, similar to the PAY tab’s account summary. A new carousel feature allows for easy navigation between savings balances, investment balances, and loan accounts.
Users can now add new savings and investment plans, top up existing accounts, or withdraw funds more easily. The process of requesting or repaying loans has also been simplified, with dedicated buttons on the top carousel. Additionally, account overdraft limits and temporary loan balances are now prominently displayed, helping users track their financial standing at a glance.
