Following the successful local debut of the OPPO A6 Pro series last October, OPPO is kicking off the new year in Kenya with a refresh to its budget segment. The company has officially released the OPPO A6x, a device that aims to balance endurance and durability with an accessible price tag.
While the A6 Pro 4G and 5G models targeted the mid-range market with higher specs (read our launch coverage here), the new A6x serves as the entry-level sibling, offering a substantial battery and high refresh rate screen for under KES 20,000.
OPPO A6x price and availability in Kenya
The OPPO A6x is available in Kenya. It comes in two storage configurations and two colour options: Ice Blue and Plum Purple.
- 4GB RAM + 128GB storage: KES 15,999
- 4GB RAM + 256GB storage: KES 19,999

The headline feature for the OPPO A6x is undoubtedly its power. The device packs a massive 6,100mAh battery, which OPPO claims can support over 13 hours of online video playback or nearly 40 hours of calls on a single charge. This is a significant step up from the standard 5,000mAh cells found in most competitors in this price bracket.
To complement the longevity, the phone is built around the Snapdragon 685 4G Mobile Platform. This is a reliable, power-efficient chip that should handle daily tasks—social media, messaging, and light gaming—without chewing through that massive battery.
On the front, users get a 6.75-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. While the resolution is capped at HD+ (1570 x 720), the high refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,125 nits (High Brightness Mode) should make for a smooth and visible experience, even outdoors.
OPPO is also pushing durability with this release. The A6x features IP64 water and dust resistance, meaning it can handle splashes and rain without issue. It also includes “Splash Touch” technology (marketed as Outdoor Mode 2.0 + GloveTouch), ensuring the screen remains responsive even when your hands are wet or covered.

Should you buy it?
At KES 15,999, the OPPO A6x enters a crowded budget market. However, the combination of a 120Hz screen, a 6,100mAh battery, and innovative features like Glove Touch gives it a unique edge for users who prioritize screen smoothness and multi-day battery life over raw camera performance. The inclusion of the Snapdragon 685 is also a welcome addition, offering better stability than the entry-level MediaTek chips often found at this price point.
The device is available now across OPPO branded shops and online e-commerce partners in Kenya.
