Xiaomi has fully detailed the Redmi Note 15 (4G), and while a 5G variant exists globally, the version that matters for most Kenyans is the 4G model. This is the variant Xiaomi is preparing for wider availability locally, and it focuses less on next-gen connectivity and more on practical, everyday strengths.
From a massive battery and a very bright AMOLED display to improved durability and a familiar 108MP camera setup, the Redmi Note 15 reads like a phone designed for real-world use rather than spec-sheet flexing.
Slim design, tougher build
Despite packing a 6000mAh battery, the Redmi Note 15 maintains a slim 7.94mm profile and weighs 183.7g, with curved glass on both the front and back for a more comfortable grip. Xiaomi is also emphasising durability this time around.
The phone uses high-durability front glass rated to survive face-down drops from up to 1.8 metres and features a reinforced internal structure. It also comes with IP64 dust and water resistance, offering protection against splashes, dust, and everyday exposure to the elements.
Colour options include Forest Green, Black, Glacier Blue, and Purple, paired with a symmetrical rear camera layout that gives the device a clean, balanced look.

Battery life clearly takes priority
Battery performance is one of the Redmi Note 15’s biggest selling points. The 6000mAh cell is rated for up to two days of use and is designed to retain capacity over a long lifespan, with Xiaomi claiming up to six years of battery durability.

Charging is handled via 33W turbo charging, while 18W reverse wired charging allows the phone to power accessories like earphones, smartwatches, or even another phone — a useful feature in everyday scenarios.
Bright AMOLED display built for outdoor use
Up front is a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an unusually high 3200 nits peak brightness, which should make the screen easily visible even under direct sunlight.
The display also focuses heavily on eye comfort, featuring 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, 16,000 levels of automatic brightness adjustment, and multiple TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker-free viewing.
Familiar 108MP camera, now with smarter tools
The Redmi Note 15 sticks with a 108MP main camera, supported by a 2MP depth sensor. Thanks to the high-resolution sensor, the phone can simulate multiple focal lengths, including a 3× optical-level zoom effect, without switching lenses.
Xiaomi has also added several AI-powered photo editing tools, such as object removal, reflection removal, and one-tap beautification, aimed at users who frequently edit and share photos on social platforms.
Balanced performance with long-term software support
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 15 runs on the MediaTek Helio G100-Ultra, a 6nm chipset designed to balance performance and power efficiency for daily tasks, streaming, and casual gaming.

Memory and storage options scale generously, with up to 8GB of RAM, expandable virtually to 16GB, and storage options reaching 512GB (if you can find one locally), plus microSD card support.
The phone ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 2 and is promised six years of security updates, giving it a longer software lifespan than many phones in its segment.
