At the top of the Redmi Note 15 lineup sits the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G, and it’s immediately clear that this is not just a minor upgrade over the 4G models. This is the only device in the series with 5G support coming to Kenya, and Xiaomi has paired that connectivity leap with meaningful hardware upgrades across performance, display quality, durability, and charging speed.
Rather than focusing purely on faster networks, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G is built as a near-flagship device, one that happens to sit within the Redmi Note family.
Stronger, tougher, and built for harsher conditions
Durability is where the Pro+ pulls furthest ahead of the other Redmi Note 15 models. It uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front, just like the Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G, but goes significantly further with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications. That means resistance not only to splashes and dust, but also to prolonged submersion and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, a territory usually reserved for rugged or flagship devices.
Internally, Xiaomi employs a REDMI Titan Structure with an aluminium-alloy reinforced frame, a thickened motherboard, multi-level shock absorption, and an ultra-tough fiberglass rear panel designed to absorb impacts more effectively. The phone is rated for 2.5-metre drop resistance and has passed extensive durability testing covering drops, bending, vibration, thermal cycling, and long-term water exposure.
Features like AI Wet Touch 2.0 ensure the screen remains usable with wet or oily hands, while one-touch speaker water removal helps restore sound clarity after exposure to moisture.
Massive battery, but now with truly flagship charging speeds
Like the Pro model, the Pro+ packs a 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery, but charging is where the gap opens up.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ supports 100W HyperCharge, capable of taking the phone from empty to full in around 40 minutes — a dramatic step up from the already respectable speeds on the 4G models.
Despite the fast charging, Xiaomi still prioritises longevity, rating the battery for up to six years of usable lifespan and strong performance even in sub-zero temperatures. Reverse charging also gets a boost, topping out at 22.5W, making the phone a surprisingly capable emergency power source.
A new generation 200MP camera system
While both Pro models use 200MP cameras, the Pro+ introduces a new fourth-generation 200MP camera system paired with a global-debut HPE sensor and a dedicated 200MP AI Engine. The sensor retains a large 1/1.4-inch size, optical image stabilisation (OIS), and advanced pixel binning, but adds more aggressive AI-driven detail restoration and multi-frame fusion.
This allows the Pro+ to deliver cleaner results across zoom levels and lighting conditions, including dual optical-level telephoto effects from a single lens. Video capabilities are also upgraded, with 4K recording, advanced HDR, and Xiaomi’s DAG imaging technology enhancing dynamic range and clarity.

An 8MP ultra-wide camera complements the main sensor, while the 32MP front camera focuses on sharper portraits with improved texture rendering and low-light performance.
Larger, sharper display than the rest of the lineup
The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ steps up to a 6.83-inch 1.5K CrystalRes AMOLED display, making it both larger and sharper than the screens used on the 4G models. It retains a 120Hz refresh rate, but adds a much higher 2560Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate for gaming, alongside 480Hz standard touch sampling.
Peak brightness hits 3200 nits, backed by Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. Eye comfort remains a focus, with 3840Hz PWM dimming, 16,000 levels of brightness adjustment, and full TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light, flicker-free viewing, and circadian friendliness.
Audio is also upgraded, with symmetrical dual speakers delivering up to a 400% volume boost, paired with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio.
The phone is rated for 2.5-metre drop resistance and has passed extensive durability testing covering drops, bending, vibration, thermal cycling, and long-term water exposure.

Snapdragon performance and next-gen connectivity
Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, built on a 4nm process. Compared to the MediaTek chips used in the 4G models, this platform brings better sustained performance, improved efficiency, and — crucially — full 5G support.
The phone supports up to 12GB of physical RAM, expandable to 24GB with memory extension, and is paired with a large IceLoop cooling system to keep performance stable under load. Connectivity also benefits from Xiaomi’s self-developed T1S tuner, improving Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS reliability.
The Pro+ also includes Xiaomi Offline Communication, enabling short-range voice communication even without mobile network coverage. This is useful in rural areas, underground spaces, or crowded events.
Software, AI and long-term support
The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G runs Xiaomi HyperOS 2 out of the box and is promised six years of security updates. It also serves as the most complete showcase of Xiaomi’s AI ecosystem in the lineup, with on-device and cloud-based tools for writing, speech recognition, translation, image enhancement, and dynamic wallpapers, alongside deep integration with Google Gemini.
The phone comes in three colour variants, namely Black, Glacier Blue, and Mocha Brown
