We all know the drill by now. You see a massive global announcement for a highly anticipated show, boot up your TV, and… it’s nowhere to be found. Netflix geo-locks its content, meaning what drops in the US or the UK isn’t always what we get here in Kenya.
That’s why I take the time every month to sift through the noise and give you the exact, localized list of what is actually landing on our screens. April 2026 is packing some serious heat, from live sports broadcasts pushing the boundaries of the platform’s tech, to the return of some absolute heavy hitters.
Here are the highlights I’m personally keeping my eye on, followed by the complete, day-by-day release schedule for Netflix Kenya.
April highlights: What you can’t miss
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 (April 23): I’ll admit, as a massive fan of the Hawkins crew, this is the release I’ve got circled in red on my calendar. This time, we’re getting an animated series straight from the Duffer Brothers and Eric Robles. Set in the winter of 1985, it promises to bring back Eleven, Mike, Dustin, and the rest of the gang as a new Upside Down mystery thaws out in their hometown.
Ronaldinho: The One and Only (April 16): There is absolutely no way I was going to leave this off the list. Getting a docuseries with exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the greatest to ever touch the ball is a massive win.

We get to see the real story of the Brazilian icon who essentially defined “joga bonito” for an entire generation. It covers his highest highs and lowest lows, and for any serious football fan, this is required viewing.
Thrash (April 10): Sometimes you just need pure, unadulterated action, and Thrash promises to deliver exactly that. The premise is beautifully chaotic: a Category 5 hurricane decimates a coastal town, bringing devastation, a massive storm surge, and hungry sharks right to the front door. It’s exactly the kind of high-stakes, edge-of-your-seat popcorn thriller I look for when I want to switch off and just enjoy the ride.
Man on Fire (April 30): While technically a series rather than a standalone film, if you’re an action junkie, this is the heavy hitter for April. Based on A.J. Quinnell’s legendary book series, it follows John Creasy, a former Special Forces mercenary battling intense PTSD, who gets pulled right back into the line of fire. It promises a gritty, relentless redemption arc packed with exactly the kind of tactical, hard-hitting action sequences the franchise is known for.
