Samsung Care+ fixes cracked Galaxy screens in Kenya for KES 3,139 to KES 15,693

Samsung is offering Samsung Care+ to Galaxy phone owners in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia. Care+ covers accidental damage, which in practice means a cracked screen. Register the phone within 30 days of buying it, and for the next 12 months Samsung will replace one broken screen with a genuine part at an authorised service centre. You pay a fixed repair fee, which in Kenya runs from KES 3,139 for a lower A-series phone to KES 15,693 for a foldable.

Care+ has been around in Kenya for a while. When Samsung launched its 2024 A-series lineup, we noted the phones came with the same 12 months of screen cover and the same 30-day window.

How Care+ differs from the warranty

Samsung’s warranty covers manufacturing defects on its phones for 24 months from purchase, at no charge. If the phone fails on its own, that’s a warranty repair.

The warranty doesn’t cover damage you cause, like dropping the phone. That’s what Care+ is for. Samsung’s Kenyan terms define accidental damage as damage from an unexpected external event during normal use. The 12 months count from the day you bought the phone, and the plan allows one screen repair. Registering costs nothing. The only payment in the terms is the repair fee.

The S-series fee covers the Galaxy S23 series and newer, including the S26 FE. Kenyan fees include VAT.

The Kenyan fees apply to phones bought from 22nd July 2026. They’re about 43% higher than the KES 2,200 to KES 11,000 Samsung charged under its previous terms.

For comparison, Samsung puts an out-of-warranty screen replacement on an A or S-series phone at KES 15,000 to over KES 30,000 on the open market in Kenya.

Say you buy a Galaxy A56 today and register it this month. If you crack the screen in March 2027, you pay KES 3,923 at a Samsung service centre and get a genuine screen back.

On a foldable, the fee covers either the inner folding screen or the outer one, not both.

Which phones qualify

Care+ only covers genuine Samsung phones sold locally with the 24-month warranty. Grey imports, second-hand phones and phones bought abroad don’t qualify, and neither do Galaxy Tab tablets.

On foldables, Samsung’s Care+ page excludes the Z Fold7, Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE in all four countries. Samsung never sold that generation officially in Kenya.

Samsung also says its newest Fold and Flip models aren’t covered locally yet. Its Kenyan terms do list the Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8, and Samsung Electronics East Africa sells the Fold8 here from KES 243,900. If you own one, check it through the Settings route below, which shows whether your phone is eligible.

What Care+ doesn’t cover

  • A second cracked screen in the same 12 months
  • The back glass, camera, frame or any other part, which you pay for separately
  • Loss or theft
  • Scratches and dents that don’t stop the phone working
  • Battery wear and ordinary wear and tear
  • Repairs outside the country where you bought the phone
  • A new owner, because the plan doesn’t transfer if you sell the phone

How to register

You have 30 days from the purchase date. A phone bought on 1st September 2026 has until 1st October 2026.

Online, go to samsungcareplus.com and enter the phone’s IMEI, which you can see by dialling *#06#, or its serial number.

On phones running One UI 9, Samsung’s latest software, including the Galaxy S26 FE, it’s in Settings under Warranty and care. The plan confirmation arrives by email and SMS. Keep it with your receipt.

How to claim

Call Samsung customer care in Kenya on 0800 545 545, or take the phone to a Samsung authorised service centre with your receipt and plan confirmation. The line is 0800 780 089 in Tanzania and 0800 300 300 in Uganda. You pay the repair fee when you check the phone in, and Samsung keeps the broken screen.

So if you’ve bought a Galaxy phone in the past month, register it now. The window closes 30 days after purchase, and after that a cracked screen is a full-price repair.
