Samsung’s Triple Lens Galaxy A7 starts selling in Kenya for Ksh. 40,000

In Samsung’s latest series of launches, we’ve seen a stronger focus on cameras. First we had triple cameras and then a few days later, a four-camera setup. Both of these devices will be making their way to Kenya, and I look forward to interacting with them.

However, starting today, the Galaxy A7 with three cameras at the back has officially started selling in the Kenyan market. Samsung have a recommended retail price of Ksh. 39,999. You may be wondering why three cameras? What do they all do? And NO they don’t take three pics at once. LOL.

That image above should make you understand. We’ve been used to dual cameras at the back where one takes normal pics, and the other is used as an optical zoom sensor, a depth sensor, or as a wide angle sensor. Here Samsung is giving you both of these extra lenses, with the depth sensor to help with portrait pictures where you blur the background. Samsung calls this Live Focus.

The display is Super AMOLED and is Corning Gorilla Glass protected. There’s a 3300mAh battery, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There’s a 2.2GHz Octa Core processor. But comes running Android 8.0 Oreo with no talk on upgrade to the latest version Android 9 Pie. I wish they tried with even Android 8.1. It is available in blue, black, pink and gold colours.
