Back in April, Samsung announced 7 new phones for the Kenyan market dubbed the A-series for 2019. At the time of announcement, only the A70 and the A80 hadn’t launched locally. But now all the A-series for 2019 devices are available in Kenya.
Samsung called the A50, A70 and A80 the Performance and Innovation drivers, while the rest (A2 Core, A10, A20, and A30) were the Value Drivers.
With the Performance and Innovation drivers, Samsung is targeting people looking for premium high end specs but cannot get their flagships S and NOTE series. If you check the A80 specs plus it’s rotating cameras mechanism, you’ll see it is a great device for it’s recommended price giving the S10e, and normal S10 competition while being of a lower price point.
In the official release Charles Kimari, Samsung East Africa’s head of Mobile Communications said, “The world is evolving from the ‘era of the selfie’ to the ‘era of live’, where people are fostering more genuine and meaningful connections. The Galaxy A80 will drive this evolution. The Gadget will offer compelling innovations: a captivating, full-screen display, Samsung’s first revolutionary rotating camera and an intelligent battery”
The device should be available across Samsung stores countrywide.
