Infinix XW01 Smartwatch is available on InfinixMall in Kenya

The Infinix XW01 smartwatch is listed on and costs KES. 1,819 only. This should be Infinix’s second “smartwatch” available in the country if the Xband from years back is to be counted.

For the price, Infinix is promising a lot of things that make me wonder just how this could be possible. For example, the watch is said to be IP67 Dust and Waterproof. It also apparently features a heart rate monitor that does a full 24hr monitor with intervals where the app records the data. These are good sort of high spec features, and I wonder just how real they could be for a price of less than KES. 2,000.

Though the watch doesn’t run Android, you’ll be able to receive alerts on incoming calls, message notifications, and to control media playback. The watch will track your steps, distance covered, and estimate calories burnt. It’ll apparently also be able to track activities such as cycling, basketball and walking. And that’s not all, the optical heart rate sensor at the back of the watch will track your heartbeat, blood pressure and blood oxygen levels. These data will be available on the Infinix Life app available on both Google Play and Apple App Stores.

The smartwatch has been available in India for some months now. From the reviews, it looks like a serious thing.

My only problem is that it’s listed on and not anywhere else. Meaning if you want to buy one, you have to exclusively place an order on the site. And that means probably never receiving your order. I am yet to receive an order I placed many many months ago when Infinixmall was launched.
