TECNO Camon 12 Pro launching in Kenya Soon

TECNO Kenya has confirmed the new TECNO Camon 12 Series will be coming to Kenya soon. The best of the series, the Camon 12 Pro can be expected locally as soon as next week. Hopefully, this time round they don’t delay things the way they did with the Phantom 9.

With this iteration of the Camon Series, there’s three devices:

  • Camon 12 Air
  • Camon 12
  • Camon 12 Pro

Camon 12 Air

The one with the killer design is the Camon 12 Air. It brings a punch-hole display at a price point no other company has yet. If TECNO prices it fairly, it will definitely be one of the biggest selling smartphones in Kenya this year. That’s a guarantee. I hope they don’t do anything stupid in terms of price.

The normal Camon 12, and the Camon 12 Pro are really well spec’d. Something weird is that the design of the PRO is very similar to that of TECNO’s flagship, the Phantom 9. I don’t know how TECNO plans to price the Camon 12 Pro, because from the specs, personally, I’d pick it over the Phantom 9.

The Camon 12 Pro features an under-the-display fingerprint scanner, an AMOLED display, a triple camera setup at the back, a 32MP selfie camera, 6GB RAM, and 64GB storage. It comes with Android 9 Pie, and a 3500mAh battery with a Micro-USB port.

Launching after the announcement of Android 10, I hope TECNO this time works harder to update their devices on time. The company is currently ranked among the last in software updates.
