You can now pre-order OPPO Reno 3 in Kenya for KES. 40,000

Update: First Impressions

Pre-orders for OPPO’s Reno 3 in Kenya are now open. The new device is expected to officially go on sale countrywide from the 12th of April. It will cost you KES. 40,000 to pick this phone up.

Please note there’s variants for the Reno 3. There’s a 5G model but that is not the version you’ll be getting in case you’re buying this device.

The model in Kenya is the normal LTE phone. It comes with a 6.4 inch AMOLED full HD display, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, 4025mAh battery, USB type-C and runs Android 10 with ColorOS 7.

Hopefully this time round ColorOS 7 isn’t clattered and annoying as with previous ColorOS versions.

The phone is powered by the Mediatek P90 processor which is not very new but is pretty good for a midranger device as this one. The battery supports 30W fast charging, and this is for me the main highlight of this device as many devices only max out at either 18W or 25W fast charging.

The rear cameras include a 48MP main sensor, a 13MP telephoto lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and an extra 2MP black and white sensor. At the front, the insane 44MP selfie camera is housed in the teardrop notch which although is a dated look for 2020, rids you of moving parts or punch-hole distractions.
