TECNO Spark 5 Air is a 7 inch Android Go Phablet

Love big screen phones? Or better yet, have you always wanted a big screen phone but at a very low cost price? Well, trust Transsion and only them to pull such craziness off. Enter the 7 inch TECNO Spark 5 Air. Yes 7 inches.

Two days ago, the Normal TECNO Spark 5 was announced in Ghana. It features a pretty normal screen size, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a huge 5000mAh battery. It is basically the Spark 4 with a punch-hole display, an extra lens and a bigger battery.

But here we are now, and TECNO Ghana website is showing us the first look at TECNO’s biggest phone yet. A 7 inch Android Go smartphone. It has a dual rear camera setup, a water drop notch housing an 8MP lens, and the same 5000mAh battery.

What’s crazy is that the website lists it as an Android Go device despite claiming the specs to be 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. Android Go devices are known to always have 1GB RAM or less… something could be off on this listing, I can’t tell.

The one bad thing about the device, that most of you already probably expected is that the display is only 720p. The website though says it can reach up to 480 nits of brightness. A 7 inch 720p panel won’t look very sharp.

It looks to be having the same processor as the normal Spark 5, and there could after all perhaps be a variant that’s not Android Go with more RAM and storage. As a lover of big devices, I’ll definitely want to check it out whenever it becomes available locally.

Infinix Note 7 comes with a 6.95 inch display. So maybe we can expect a lot more larger screen devices this year from Transsion. I just hope they embrace better screen resolutions.
