TECNO Pova is official with 6000mAh battery plus the Helio G80

TECNO Pova is a budget gaming phone with 6GB RAM

The TECNO Pova is now official in India, we may soon see it launch in the Kenya market. However, since we already have the TECNO Pouvoir series here, we may see it launch with a different name since pronunciation is the same. The new TECNO Pova comes with a huge 6000mAh battery, quad cameras, and the budget gaming Helio G80 Processor. There are a couple of variants from 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, to 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. In India, the price for the 4/64GB model is set at Rs. 9,999 which is about KES. 15,000.

The TECNO Pova is designed as a gaming device. From the shouting colours of the device, to the graphics used on the official landing page, this is definitely being pushed as a full on gamer device for the masses who don’t want to buy the expensive gaming handsets.

TECNO Pova is official with 6000mAh battery plus the Helio G80

The Helio G80 Processor is quite good in the budget segment and with the 6GB RAM, one will be able to play high end games quite comfortably at certain settings, and acceptable frame rates. With the 6000mAh battery, you will also be able to do such demanding tasks for much longer. My only issue is that TECNO didn’t finally budge and include USB type-C, so everyone buying this device in 2021 will still be using a MicroUSB port – which is now phased out. However, there’s 18W fast charging. Which means lesser charging hours for the huge battery.

What are your thoughts on the new device, and would you be getting it? What devices do you believe compete directly with it?
