Xiaomi Kenya has announced it will be bringing the Redmi NOTE 10 Series to the market. The launch will be on Saturday 10th April, and they will have a massive giveaway of 200 Mi Band 5’s to people who will be live-streaming the event. Additionally, everyone who successfully pre-orders a device after the launch will get a free Mi Band 5 included.
These are the devices Xiaomi will be bringing to the market:
- Redmi NOTE 10 – there will be three variants here: 4GB RAM, 64GB storage; 4GB RAM, 128GB storage; and 6GB RAM, 128GB storage.
- Redmi NOTE 10 Pro – there will also be three variants here: 6GB RAM, 64GB storage; 6GB RAM, 128GB storage; and 8GB RAM, 128GB storage.
So in total, from the launch, you will have 6 different devices to choose from. And with the expected extremely competitive price points, there will be something for everyone at the different market segments.
Redmi NOTE 10:
The Redmi NOTE 10 is a very well spec’d device at its segment. It runs Android 11 with the MiUI 12 skin, and is powered by a Snapdragon 678 processor. It has a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is also IP53 dust and splash-protected.
Unlike many devices from other manufacturers within this segment, the Redmi NOTE 10 has a FULL HD+ display. Others resort to 720p IPS panels to cut on cost. Meanwhile Xiaomi packs an AMOLED panel which offers infinite contrast ratio, while also saving on power.
There’s a 48MP main camera at the back and a 13MP selfie shooter at the front. You get USB Type-C, and 33W fast charging for its 5000mAh battery. Something very few companies offer right now. With 4GB or 6GB RAM, and the processor included, you will be able to run very many different applications, including demanding ones like big games. Check out the full specs here.
Redmi NOTE 10 Pro:
The main reason this phone stands out for me is the 120Hz High-refresh rate panel. This is still a preserve of high-end phones. We’ve only seen 90Hz on some mid-rangers and more affordable devices. So the fact that Xiaomi has brought this to the NOTE 10 Pro in itself is worth commending the company.
The other standout feature with this phone is the 108MP camera. If you’ve always wanted such a camera, and can’t afford the high end Samsungs and Xiaomis, here you go.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 732G, with either 6GB or 8GB RAM. The 6.67-inch Super AMOLED panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and can do up to 1100 nits of brightness. Check out the specs below.
What to expect from launch:
- The giveaway of course.
- Where to buy the device – hopefully Xiaomi Kenya nails it on availability because the phones bring proper competition!
- Hopefully, more on Xiaomi’s expansion to become an even bigger player in the market.
