Samsung launches Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53 Promising 5 years of Updates

One of the main reasons to get a Samsung Galaxy device right now is the number of years Samsung will support it. The new Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53 will receive 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates. I believe this is the most years of updates for any devices in their price range. Neither Xiaomi, nor OPPO can boast of such.

However, both Xiaomi and OPPO still include a charger in the boxes of their smartphones. Something Samsung is now doing away with. Which is crazy especially since A-series are their affordable lineup – mostly targeting either first time users, or people who would rather get a charger in the box than buy one.

For a while now, the competition between different manufactures has been on who can offer the best specs for the lowest amount of money. Of course, over the years we’ve seen that most devices within similar price points are offering sort of the same specs. Samsung is changing the game now with years of support.

You don’t want a phone that’ll be obsolete in software in the next few months. You want to be assured that when Android 13 rolls out, you will be on track to testing it out. You want to know that 4 years down the line, your phone will still be supporting the latest apps. And Samsung is assuring you of that with the new Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53.

The Samsung A-series remain their best selling phones. They’re priced pretty much nicely and now feature a couple of flagship features including:

  • IP water and dust resistance rating.
  • 5G support
