In a significant move to expand its product lineup, Infinix is preparing to launch its first tablet, the Infinix XPAD (X1101/X1101B). This step underscores the company’s ambition to offer affordable and versatile devices across all form factors, catering to a diverse range of consumers. The full renders and specifications of the Infinix XPAD have been exclusively revealed by NaijaAndroidArena.com, providing a comprehensive look at what this new tablet will bring to the market.

In 2017 there were rumors of an Infinix tablet which never materialized. Hopefully, this time round – given we even have images – this XPad becomes reality and we get to see it launch across many markets. Infinix has expanded its offerings to many different tech gadgets including laptops, smartwatches and earbuds.

Expected specifications of the Infinix XPad:

Design and Build

The Infinix XPAD is set to feature a mid-range build, characterized by a stylish and modern design. The tablet will come with a dual rear camera setup housed in a square module, accompanied by an LED flash. The back cover, made of plastic, sports a distinctive brushed pattern towards the left corner, adding a touch of elegance to the device.

The XPAD will be available in three color options: Frost Blue, Stellar Grey, and Titan Gold, allowing users to choose a hue that best suits their personal style. The device will measure 257.07 x 168.62 x 7.58 mm and weigh 496 grams, making it relatively lightweight and portable for an 11-inch tablet.

Display

According to the leak, one of the standout features of the Infinix XPAD is its 11-inch display, which offers a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels, translating to a pixel density of approximately 239ppi. The screen supports a 90Hz refresh rate, promising smooth visuals and a responsive touch experience, which is particularly beneficial for activities like gaming and multimedia consumption.

Performance

Under the hood, the Infinix XPAD is said to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 Ultimate 4G chipset. This octa-core processor, clocked at 2.2 GHz, is designed to deliver reliable performance for a mid-range device. The tablet will come with 4GB of RAM, which we feel is a bad decision. At least 8GB RAM would be so good. Hopefully we get to see variants with 4GB, 6GB and 8GB RAM.

In terms of storage, the XPAD is said to offer two variants: 128GB and 256GB of internal storage. Both models will support expansion via microSD cards, allowing users to increase the storage capacity by up to 1TB. This makes the XPAD a versatile device for those who need ample space for apps, games, and media files.

Camera System

The Infinix XPAD will feature a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 12MP wide primary sensor and an 8MP secondary shooter. This combination is expected to provide decent photographic capabilities for a tablet. On the front, the device will house an 8MP camera, ideal for selfies and video calls. No one really cares about cameras on tablets, so these won’t be anything great.

Battery

The tablet is said to be equipped with a 7000mAh battery, which should offer substantial usage time given the device’s specifications. The XPAD will support 18W wired fast charging, ensuring that users can quickly recharge the battery and minimize downtime. It would have been nice to see All-Round Fast Charge which Infinix has touted for a while now. 18W on a 7000mAh cell would be so slow.

Operating System and Software

Out of the box, the Infinix XPAD is said to run Android 14, overlaid with Infinix’s custom XOS skin. This combination will provide users with the latest Android features and a unique interface tailored by Infinix. Hopefully we see serious customisations that allow good tablet multitasking and not boring overstretched phone UI.

Connectivity and Other Features

As leaks suggest, it is a Wi-Fi-only device. That means the Infinix XPAD will not support SIM cards.

You will get a range of connectivity options including a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. Security-wise, the tablet will feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, adding an extra layer of protection for access.

Market Context and Expectations

The entry of Infinix into the tablet market comes at a time when the demand for tablets is said to be on the rise. Brands like Xiaomi, Redmi, and OnePlus have recently introduced new models, driven by the increasing consumption of on-the-go content, gaming, and other digital activities. The Infinix XPAD, with its specs, expected affordable pricing, modern design, and competitive specifications, is poised to make a significant impact.

While the detailed specifications and features of the Infinix XPAD have been revealed by NaijaAndroidArena.com, the actual specifications and pricing will be confirmed once the device is officially launched.
