Unboxing the BMW Edition Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G
Infinix has once again teamed up with BMW’s Designworks to bring us the NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G Racing Edition. This collaboration follows their earlier partnership on the NOTE 30 Pro VIP Racing Edition. The above unboxing video takes you through the contents of the box, providing a detailed look at everything you get with this new device.
Racing Edition NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G Packaging
The packaging immediately signals the BMW partnership, with the signature BMW colors adorning the box. On the back, you’ll find a detailed list of the phone’s specifications, highlighting key features such as 100W fast charging, 20W wireless charging support, NFC capabilities, an active Halo light, and the Dimensity 7020 processor. Additionally, the phone boasts 24GB of RAM (combining real and virtual memory), a 108MP main camera, and JBL-tuned speakers.
Inside the Box
When you open the box, you are greeted with two separate compartments. The first box contains the phone itself and the accessories, while the second houses the MagPad, a 15W wireless charging system.
- The Phone Box: The first thing you’ll see is the NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G, still protected by a layer of film. Beneath the phone, you find a 100W charging brick with a USB Type-C to Type-C charger. This inclusion is notable because it allows for more versatile use, such as charging laptops or transferring data between devices. The box also includes wired headphones that connect via the Type-C port, as there’s no headphone jack on this series.
- Accessories: The package also includes a SIM ejector tool, a custom-made glass protector for the curved screen, and a back cover that supports MagCharge, where the MagPad attaches magnetically to wirelessly charge the phone. You’ll also find some stickers included for added customization.
- The MagPad: The MagPad, stored in a separate box, is designed to attach magnetically to the phone case. It’s a black and grey device with Infinix branding, supporting both Qi and EPP wireless charging standards, making it compatible with other devices as well.
The Phone Design
Once unboxed, the NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G reveals its “Wings of Speed” glossy finish, which features patterns that shift depending on the light. The back also includes the active Halo light, adding a dynamic visual element to the phone’s design. The phone is equipped with dual JBL-tuned speakers, an IR blaster for controlling appliances, and the USB Type-C port at the bottom.
Setup and Software
Setting up the device is straightforward, leading you to Infinix’s XOS skin, which is customized with the BMW Racing Edition theme. This theme extends to the app icons and lock screen images but can be easily changed if preferred. The device comes with minimal bloatware, and any pre-installed apps that aren’t needed can be removed.
