If you’ve been stuck in a 60Hz nightmare on your TECNO Camon 30 4G even while your favorite apps begged for buttery 120Hz motion, there’s finally some good news. The latest July 2025 security update is rolling out, and early user reports suggest TECNO may have finally squashed the persistent refresh rate bug tied to HiOS 15 and Android 15.
This 736MB OTA update (version CL6-15.1.0.139) brings the July 5, 2025 Google security patch, but more importantly, it appears to tweak the graphics engine under the hood. While TECNO hasn’t officially acknowledged fixing the refresh rate issue in the changelog, some Redditors are saying otherwise.

Users are saying you can now set refresh rates per app, a long-awaited feature for gamers and TikTok addicts alike. That said, results seem to vary depending on device variant and app behavior, with some users still reporting being stuck on 60Hz even after the latest update when playing games like Brawl Stars.
So, while the update may not be a one-size-fits-all magic fix, it’s the first meaningful step forward since April, when HiOS 15 first dropped with Android 15 and brought a basket of bugs with it.
What Else Is Included?
Aside from the refresh rate whispers, the update officially focuses on:
- Security patch (July 5, 2025)
- System stability and performance improvements
- General bug fixes
Meanwhile, TECNO’s flagship Camon 40 Pro 5G is also receiving its July 2025 update but with a much more impressive changelog. That one brings major improvements to camera quality, battery management, AI functions, and sleep mode optimizations. You can read about those details here: TECNO Camon 40 Pro 5G July Update.
So, if your Camon 30 has been stuttering through daily use, this latest patch might be the update you’ve been waiting for. It may not fix everything, but for many, smoother scrolling is finally back on the menu.
Let us know: has the update fixed your refresh rate woes, or are you still stuck at 60Hz?
