Xiaomi Redmi 15C Specs, Price and Availability in Kenya

Update: Xiaomi Kenya has unveiled the Redmi 15C in Kenya, and we’ve added an update at the end of the article with the official pricing details.

Xiaomi Kenya has officially confirmed that the Redmi 15C will be unveiled in Kenya tomorrow, August 29th. This comes almost exactly a year after the Redmi 14C hit local shelves, keeping up with the brand’s steady annual refresh cycle.

And just like its predecessor, the Redmi 15C is shaping up to be another crowd-pleaser in the entry-level category — big display, big battery, and a price point that should keep it firmly in budget-friendly territory.

Price & Availability in Kenya

While Xiaomi Kenya has confirmed the August 29th launch date, the official local price remains under wraps. That said, we already have a clue:

  • In Bangladesh, the Redmi 15C costs BDT 14,999 (~KES 16,000) for the 6GB + 128GB version and BDT 17,499 (~KES 19,000) for the 8GB + 256GB. This means the entry-level 4/128GB model could be below KES 15,000.
  • In Poland, it goes for PLN 499 (~KES 17,500) for the entry model.
  • Last year’s Redmi 14C launched in Kenya at:
    • KES 13,699 (4GB + 128GB)
    • KES 15,099 (6GB + 128GB)
    • KES 16,999 (8GB + 256GB).

Given how smartphone prices in Kenya have nearly tripled since 2019, and with financing options now shaping the market, we expect the Redmi 15C to come in around KES 14,000–18,000 depending on the configuration when it hits stores.

The Redmi 15C feels like a classic Xiaomi move: big battery, high-refresh screen, polished design with IP64 rating, and playful extras like Wet Touch 2.0 and reverse charging that set it apart in the budget category. It’s the kind of phone built for students, hustlers, and anyone who needs an all-day workhorse without stretching their budget.

The only question now is: will Xiaomi Kenya manage to keep the price as friendly as before, or will we see the effects of Kenya’s rising smartphone costs bite deeper this time?
