August is done and dusted, and while most of us were stuck in traffic, bingeing CHAN qualifiers, or just trying to stretch that last bit of data bundle, TECNO was quietly pushing out fresh software updates to a bunch of its smartphones.
Now, before you get too excited, these aren’t necessarily new Android versions or even the latest August 2025 security patch. Nope. Think of them more like a solid “glow-up” compared to what your phone had before, most likely July’s security patches. Still, in a world where Android brands sometimes ghost their users after launch, this is worth celebrating.
So, who got updated?
TECNO’s update train rolled through several stations this past month, covering its main families such as POVA, POP, CAMON, and SPARK. Here’s the full list of devices that saw their software move up a notch:
POVA Series
- TECNO POVA 6
- TECNO POVA 6 Neo
- TECNO POVA 6 Pro 5G
- TECNO POVA 6 Neo 5G
- TECNO POVA Curve 5G
POP Series
- TECNO POP 8
- TECNO POP 9
- TECNO POP 9 5G
- TECNO POP 10
CAMON Series

- TECNO CAMON 40
- TECNO CAMON 40 5G
- TECNO CAMON 40 Pro
SPARK Series
- TECNO SPARK 20 Pro
- TECNO SPARK 20 Pro+
- TECNO SPARK 20C
- TECNO SPARK 30
- TECNO SPARK 30 Pro
- TECNO SPARK 30C
- TECNO SPARK 30C 5G

Why should you care?
Because timely updates are still a big deal in 2025. If you’re rocking one of these devices, your phone just got a little safer, a little more stable, and maybe even a little faster (though don’t expect miracles). Plus, it shows TECNO is sticking to its promise of keeping recent devices alive with regular security patches.
And yes, I’ll keep saying this: it’s refreshing to see a brand that’s actually trying in a space where some rivals still treat updates like a favor rather than a responsibility.
TECNO has been making steady progress in 2025 when it comes to software. From faster monthly rollouts to clearer communication on what’s being patched, the company seems serious about catching up with the likes of Samsung and Google, though it’s still got a way to go.
For now, if your TECNO phone is on this list, hit that “Check for updates” button. Your device might just surprise you with a fresh patch. And if it’s not? Well… keep your fingers crossed for September.
