At its HUAWEI CONNECT 2025 conference, Huawei just pulled the wraps off its latest grand ambition: a sweeping new platform designed to inject AI and automation into the messy, complex world of logistics. Dubbed the “SMART Logistics & Warehousing Solution,” itβs a direct pitch to the companies that run the ports, railways, and warehouses that keep the global economy moving.
So what does this βSMARTβ solution actually do? According to Huawei, itβs built around five pillars that sound like a bingo card for modern logistics: a centralized software platform, digital management tools, AI-powered allocation of goods, and, of course, a heavy dose of automation for moving things aroundβthink autonomous vehicles and robots in warehouses.
This is all part of Huawei’s broader “Logistics as a Service” play. The company is essentially telling the transportation world that it can provide the underlying intelligent glueβthe communications networks, the cloud computing power, and the AI algorithmsβto connect and streamline their fragmented operations.
“With its comprehensive ICT intelligent foundation and innovative technologies, Huawei is turning concepts like Mobility as a Service and Logistics as a Service into reality,” said Rachad Nassar, one of the company’s directors, in a statement that aims to position Huawei as the brains behind the brawn.
To prove this isn’t just vaporware, Huawei trotted out a roster of existing partners. Officials from the State Railway of Thailand talked up plans to become a regional hub using Huawei’s help, while logistics giant SF Technology and the massive Shandong Port Group spoke about using the company’s “digital foundation” to boost efficiency in the air and at sea.

Huawei isn’t starting from scratch here. The company claims its tech is already being used in over 100 ports, 200,000 km of railways, and by more than 210 airlines worldwide. But bundling it all into one unified “SMART” solution is a new, aggressive push. In a world still reeling from supply chain chaos, Huawei is betting that a dose of centralized AI is the cureβas long as youβre willing to let it run the show.
