Apple has today said Apple TV and Apple Arcade will be added to every iCloud+ plan in Kenya this month, at no change to the price. The 50GB plan stays at $0.99 a month, about KES 128. This will be the first time Apple TV comes to Kenya. Apple is running the same change in 102 countries and regions between now and the end of September. Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, India, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates are on the list. The United States and the United Kingdom are not. Neither is South Africa, which has been able to buy Apple TV for years.
iCloud+ is Apple’s paid cloud storage plan. It covers iPhone backups, photos, Hide My Email and iCloud Private Relay, and everyone on a Kenyan Apple Account who pays for more than the free 5GB is already on it. From this month, the same subscription also carries Apple TV, the streaming service formerly called Apple TV+, and Apple Arcade, its no-ads games catalogue of more than 200 titles for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV 4K.
We reported in May that Apple’s own services availability page still listed Apple TV and Apple One as unavailable in Kenya, while Uganda, Ghana, Mozambique and Zimbabwe could stream. That gap closes for Apple TV this month. Apple One, the bundle that adds Apple Music, is still not sold in Kenya, and the Kenya announcement does not mention it.
What it costs in Kenya
Apple bills iCloud+ in Kenya in US dollars. The prices on Apple’s Kenya support page are the same ones that applied before the launch. KES figures use Tuesday’s rate.
- 50GB: $0.99 a month (about KES 128)
- 200GB: $3.49 a month (about KES 452)
- 2TB: $11.99 a month (about KES 1,552)
- 6TB: $34.99 a month (about KES 4,529)
- 12TB: $69.99 a month (about KES 9,060)
Every tier includes Apple TV and Apple Arcade, and every tier can be shared with up to five other people in a Family Sharing group. The 50GB plan gets one HomeKit Secure Video camera, 200GB gets five and 2TB and above get unlimited. Kenyan subscribers pay more than Americans on the larger tiers: the same 200GB plan is $2.99 in the United States and 2TB is $9.99. Apple’s Kenya page carries two notes against those prices. One says taxes are included. The other says prices “may be slightly higher due to the Value Added Tax (VAT)”. Either way, what leaves your card should be close to the dollar figure.
Apple Music gets cheaper too, for iCloud+ subscribers
The plan also adds Apple Music Select, a set of ad-free radio stations in the Home tab of the Apple Music app. It is lean-back listening only. You cannot pick songs.
Anyone paying for iCloud+ can then take full Apple Music at $2.79 a month for an individual plan (about KES 361) or $4.49 for a family plan (about KES 581). The last Apple Music price change in Kenya we covered was in October 2022, when the individual plan went to $3.29 and the family plan to $5.49. Both new prices sit below those. The lower price only applies when both subscriptions are billed through Apple on the same Apple Account, and in a family group only the person paying for iCloud+ gets it.
If you already pay for Apple Arcade
In Kenya this only touches Apple Arcade. Arcade has been on sale here on its own, and Apple is ending that. Anyone paying for Arcade directly through Apple, without iCloud+, will get a push notification and an email saying they are now on iCloud+. The old subscription is cancelled, access continues without a break, and game progress and saves carry over. Apple’s iCloud+ page says the switch happens automatically. It does not say which storage tier those subscribers land on. Apple’s announcement ends standalone Apple TV subscriptions in the same breath, but no Kenyan has one to lose. Apple never sold it here.
To check whether your account has flipped, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then iCloud+. If Apple TV and Apple Arcade are listed there, you have them. Apple says the rollout runs through the end of September and the date varies by country, so a Kenyan account may not show the change today.
What you get on Apple TV
Apple TV is the streaming service behind Severance, Ted Lasso, The Studio, Slow Horses, the film F1 and the Best Picture winner CODA. It runs in the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV 4K, on most smart TVs and games consoles, and in a browser at tv.apple.com. Apple says its originals have won more than 900 awards since the service launched on 1 November 2019. It cost $4.99 a month then. The Apple TV included with iCloud+ does not cover the paid channels or rental films inside the same app, and Apple says catalogue availability varies by country.

Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services and Health, said in the release that the company wanted to bring the two services “to iCloud+ users in over 100 countries in one convenient subscription”. Forty of the 102 are in Africa. Apple TV is expanding to 59 new countries, which takes it to 170 worldwide, and Kenya is one of the 59.

Prices differ by country. Nigeria pays in naira, from NGN 1,300 for 50GB, Tanzania from TZS 2,500, and Uganda the same USD rates as Kenya.
What we make of it
A year ago we wrote about waiting through another iPhone event for Apple TV to reach Kenya. It is arriving six days after the iPhone 18 Pro, as part of a $0.99 plan. Apple TV costs $14.99 a month in the United States after a price rise on 28 August 2026, and Arcade costs $6.99. In Kenya the two together cost less than the discounted Apple Music subscription Apple is selling alongside them, and the storage comes with them. If you have an iPhone, already pay for iCloud storage and have a card that clears Apple’s billing, check your Subscriptions page before the end of September, the deadline Apple gives for the rollout.
