Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A27 5G, the latest addition to its popular Galaxy A series lineup. Unveiled in Europe ahead of a wider rollout, the device arrives as a notable upgrade over last year’s Galaxy A26 5G, bringing a redesigned display, improved performance, smarter AI features, and longer software support.
The biggest visual change is the move to an Infinity-O display, making the Galaxy A27 5G the first Galaxy A2x-series phone to ditch Samsung’s Infinity-U on the A26 in favour of a punch-hole camera cutout. Combined with slimmer and more symmetrical bezels, the new design gives the phone a more premium look that aligns it more closely with higher-end Galaxy devices.
Samsung has equipped the phone with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, while performance duties are handled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset built on a 4nm process. The company says users should notice smoother multitasking, faster app switching, and improved graphics performance compared to its predecessor.
Camera upgrades are relatively modest but meaningful. The rear setup includes a 50MP main camera with OIS, accompanied by 5MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensors. Up front, Samsung has swapped the selfie camera from 13MP on the A26 to 12MP, promising better dynamic range and more natural-looking skin tones.

AI continues to be a major focus across Samsung’s mid-range portfolio. The Galaxy A27 5G introduces improved Circle to Search, enhanced Object Eraser, and a new transcription feature that can translate while generating notes. Samsung is also offering access to multiple AI assistants, including Google Gemini and Perplexity, while Bixby now functions as a more conversational device agent.

Another major selling point is longevity. Samsung is promising up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, alongside six years of security updates, a level of support that remains rare in this segment.
In Europe, Samsung has priced the base Galaxy A27 5G at β¬349, which converts to roughly KES 51,400 at current exchange rates, though the eventual Kenyan retail price will likely be significantly lower after regional pricing adjustments.

The Galaxy A27 5G will go on sale in select markets starting July 3, 2026. Samsung has yet to announce availability in Kenya, but given the recent launch of the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 locally, it would not be surprising to see the A27 5G follow in the coming weeks.
