Ever since Google quietly stripped away explicit end-of-life support dates from its official help pages last year, tracking Pixel lifespans has required a bit of DIY sleuthing. Thankfully, community-driven trackers like endoflife.date stepped in to solve a problem that Google essentially created out of nowhere. Browsing through the site recently, I stumbled across a fascinating update: Google has reportedly halted production of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
If true, Mountain View’s luxury foldable had a remarkably brief manufacturing run. Arriving in September 2024, the phone’s production lifecycle appears to have wrapped up after just 1 year and 10 months. Intrigued by the claim, I decided to do some digging myself. I checked official Google Stores across several regions to see how inventory actually stood.
While standard models like the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL were still listed on multiple storefronts (albeit marked as out of stock), the Pixel 9 Pro Fold was missing entirely. Google had completely delisted the foldable from its store pages in the few markets it was officially sold, strongly corroborating the report that manufacturing has indeed shut down.

What makes this situation even more interesting is how inconsistent Google’s hardware timeline feels right now. According to endoflife.date, the original Pixel Tablet remains actively in production, a full three years after its June 2023 launch, likely because Google hasn’t introduced a proper successor yet. Furthermore, while the tracker claims the core Pixel 9 family is still being manufactured, my store sweeps revealed almost zero stock anywhere, with only the budget-friendly Pixel 9a actively sitting on select digital shelves.
On the brighter side, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will continue receiving software support until 2031.
