The itel A300+ lets you turn the back of the phone towards yourself and still see the selfie you are about to take. A 2.01-inch display beside the rear camera shows the preview, so you can check your position in the frame before taking the photo. For a brand focused on affordable phones, that is an unusual way to make the camera more useful.
itel launched the A300+ in Indonesia on 10th October 2026.
Using the rear camera for a selfie usually means facing away from the phone’s main screen. That makes it harder to see whether your face, or everyone in a group, fits in the shot. The A300+’s rear display puts the preview on the same side as the camera. You can adjust the framing while looking at the phone’s back, instead of taking a picture and turning it around to check.
itel lists a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The rear preview gives you a choice of which camera to use for a selfie, while the front camera remains available. Those megapixel figures describe image resolution; they do not establish which camera produces better photos. We have not tested either camera.
There are everyday uses for the small screen beyond photography. itel’s Indonesian launch announcement confirms clock and notification displays, along with music controls for skipping or pausing a track. The screen can also show personalised watch faces. That gives it a purpose when the phone is lying with its main screen facing down.
Earlier this month, we covered Honor’s Play20C (almost similar spec to spec), another affordable phone with a rear screen for composing selfies. The A300+ gives buyers another example of that idea, although similar screen sizes do not tell us whether the controls or camera experience are equally good.

A large battery behind the second screen
The rest of the A300+ is built around itel’s listed 7,000mAh typical battery capacity. Its official charging footnote specifies support for up to 22.5W charging, while the charger included in the box has an 18W maximum output. Buyers therefore should not expect the supplied charger to deliver the phone’s advertised maximum. Neither figure is a measured charging time.
On the front is a 6.78-inch display with a resolution of 720 × 1576 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Refresh rate is how often the screen can update each second; it can make motion look smoother, but does not add detail to that HD+ resolution or guarantee games will run at 120 frames per second.
A MediaTek Helio G81 processor runs the phone. The Indonesian version has 6GB of RAM, the working memory used by running apps, and 128GB of storage for apps and files. itel also advertises virtual RAM, which uses storage to supplement memory. That should not be counted as extra physical RAM when comparing phones.
The software is Android 16 Go edition, the version of Android intended for entry-level hardware. itel’s product and launch pages do not state how many years of operating-system upgrades or security updates buyers will receive. They also do not name third-party camera apps that work with the rear preview, so its use for selfies should not be read as a promise of support inside every social app.
Indonesian prices and the launch offer
The 6GB/128GB A300+ has an Indonesian list price of IDR 2,499,000, roughly USD 140 or about KES 18,000. From 10th October 2026 to 16th October 2026, itel’s official stores on Shopee and TikTok Shop by Tokopedia have a launch price of IDR 2,199,000, roughly USD 123 or about KES 15,800.
The launch announcement does not give a worldwide sales schedule.
We think the rear preview is a useful addition. For anyone considering the A300+, the next thing to establish is how good those selfies actually look and how easy they are to take. A buying recommendation still needs that camera experience and a local offer to judge it against.
