Samsung Galaxy A08 LTE costs KES 23,300 in Kenya, about KES 8,300 more than the A07 4G did at launch

Samsung has launched the Galaxy A08 LTE in Kenya at KES 23,300 for the version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. LTE means 4G here, and the A08 is the successor to the A07 4G. When that phone reached Kenya in September 2025, Brandcart, Samsung’s official online store partner, sold the same 4GB and 64GB version for KES 14,995. The A08 costs KES 8,300 more. A 6GB and 128GB A08 follows later in the year at KES 33,100.

When we first covered the Galaxy A08 last month, Kenya had no price yet. We said that for anyone buying a first Galaxy for under KES 20,000, the phone would come down to its Kenyan price. It now does, and the price lands KES 3,300 above that line.

The extra money doesn’t buy much new hardware. The chip, the 6.7-inch HD+ screen and the cameras are the same as the A07 4G’s: a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth camera at the back, and an 8MP selfie camera. The Kenyan launch details give a 90Hz screen and 25W charging, which we had to assume in September. What changes is the battery, up from 5,000mAh to 6,000mAh, though we haven’t tested what that means in hours, and it makes the phone 0.4mm thicker and 13g heavier. The dust rating goes from IP54 to IP64, which means no dust gets in at all, and water protection stays at splashes. The update promise improves too. The A08 starts on Android 17 with One UI 9, and Samsung’s page lists security updates until 30th September 2032, which is 13 months past the A07’s 31st August 2031. So the KES 8,300 pays for a bigger battery, better dust sealing and a year more of security updates, on an otherwise similar phone.

The base model’s 64GB leaves less than that to use. Samsung page for the 4GB and 64GB version says 45.6GB is free out of the box. The microSD slot takes cards up to 2TB, and the A07 4G has one too.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A18 LTE alongside it, at KES 32,000 for 4GB and 128GB. It has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen at 90Hz, a 50MP main camera with a 5MP ultra-wide and a 2MP camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. That’s KES 8,700 more than the base A08, for twice the storage. The 6GB and 128GB A08 would cost KES 1,100 more than the A18 for the same 128GB, so it would need its 6,000mAh battery and 2GB of extra RAM to justify the difference.

Nothing in the launch details names a retailer or an on-sale date, and Brandcart’s catalogue had no Galaxy A08 on 21st October. In September 2025 the A07 4G sold for KES 12,600 at Phones and Tablets while Brandcart charged KES 14,995, so compare shops before you buy.

At KES 23,300 the A08 is out of reach for a KES 20,000 budget. If the bigger battery and the longer update promise are what you want, it still gets you both. If you want the better phone, the A18 is KES 8,700 away.
