Update 2: How to Upgrade your Infinix Hot Note X551 to Android 5.1 Lollipop

These problems below have since been addressed. The issues that have been handled are as follows:
- Battery heats a little while charging because of “Super Fast Charge” Mode. This is normal. You’re advised not to use your device while it is on charging.
- User Interface – I doubt this can be changed. This is only my problem.
- Installing Apps on SD – I hope the System Update for the Hot Note which has been sent recently can solve this.
- Font – There are Apps on Google Play to change Font.
- Ultra-Power Saving Mode – Mmmh. The System Update maybe….

This is a quick complain about the Infinix Hot Note. These are problems according to me. My Problems. Don’t get this post wrong.
I have been using the device for a week now and even did a full review over here.
I’m not saying it is a bad phone. It is an awesome device. In fact it beats all phones currently under 15K. I could even say under 20K. I don’t know. However I have some few things to complain about:
- Battery heating while charging.
This phone has the best battery I have used on a phone. 4000mAh is really really good. However I noted this: The phone heats up while charging. When you plug in your phone to the humongous charger (The charger is big. Seriously), you will notice that the phone will get hot while charging. Whether on or off, it still heats up and can be kind of scary. The heating lasts up to around 85%.When the phone is 85% charged, the heating reduces and charging continues normally. Maybe this happens only with my device. I use the charger that came with the phone. I charge it directly on the normal power sockets or on power surge protected extensions. But it still happens. If you are experiencing the same issue kindly share.I am happy, however, with the battery life. It lasts and lasts and lasts.
- User Interface
I had already mentioned this on my Full Review Post. And some people laughed. Why now?Anyway, I have realised some people are in love with the device’s interface. Okay I’m cool with it if you’re. I just have to complain: What’s with the White?This isn’t much a problem anymore.
- Installing Apps on SD card
No matter how many times I change my preferences to phone storage, the phone continually writes on the SD card. Everything is taken to the SD card yet the phone has 16GB internal storage? Why? Infinix should do something about this.
- Font
This too kills me. The font. Anybody else hating the font?
- Ultra Power Saving Mode
I am never using this power saving mode. Yes it works well. Changes everything to black and white to save power but after that I have to sign in to all my apps as their data has been cleared! I also have to reset default launchers and other apps as they’ve also been cleared. What’s with that Infinix?
Okay those are the problems I am facing. My Problems. Do you face the same or is it just me? Tell me in the comment boxes below.
This phone is on my list of “Best Phones Under 10K” (and also 20K). @InfinixKenya shaking up the market.

Hello! My phone does not vibrate when it rings but it vibrates on other places. Moreover it is in vibrate and ring. How can I put the vibration back.

i restarted by phone after slow charging and i backup everything on my phone before restoring the factory now my phone is bring so Ads and all my picture and others thing can’t be found after restoring the backup. the annoying thing is the Ads pupping up on my phone unnecessary and also tell me the android.systemUI stopped working all the time

When i try to play songs on my SD card my infinix hotnote keeps telling me that “my music has finished playing” but the music in my phone storage plays fine. And I can’t download file from my whatsapp anymore, it keeps saying “the file doesn’t exist on your Sd card” I tried formatting the sd, then the songs started playing but after a short while it either stopped playing or skipping within a song….. this problem started after I inserted an SD card… could it be from the phone or the Sd card?

That happened to me just last night o.. I was so worried.. Press the Poeer button and volume down button for hard reboot.. For like 1min or so.. To you see factory mide settings and go down to reboot.. Mine worked.. But it can super charge fast anymore shaa

I’ve encountered a calling problem with my Infinix-X551 Hot Note. When I call overseas, everything is OK, no hearing issue. If I call a local number, the person I’m calling can’t hear me at all. But, if he/she calls me right back, (s)he can hear me.
So, the problem is I can’t hear local calls unless I receive them. Hearing is OK with International calls and local INCOMING calls only. It’s bad with only OUTGOING local calls.
I have serious problem with my Infinite Note battery..it keeps going off. Sometimes for a week before the charging can respond …the battery just went dead again….this was when I have about 47% battery life on ..please help me…what is wrong…?

I have a strange problem, suddenly I failed to download any pic, video or audio from whats-app application. Always gives me “the download was unable to complete, please try again later”. At the same time, I have no connection problem or even space too. Sometimes, when I restart my phone it works probably for a while, then go back to the previous message.

I don’t know what the issue might be. Try and Sync all contacts to Google.

Going left or right is fine but up and down seems to have a problem. Is it because of sensor problem? or the phone doesn’t support such moves.

Dickson, there is no issue with the game. it’s the phone. Kindly see for you self, try downloading any game that need tilt up or down specially any flying game. I would really appreciate you help with the issue.

I once had a similar issue with my previous hot note. I MTK backed up a friend’s phone and used it to restore mine.

the notification light on my device does not work.what can be done about it
The Hot Note doesn’t have a notification light. The ‘light’ on the front only works as a sensor for switching on/off the screen during calls or when Inadvertent mode is enabled.

another problem is when someone calls you while the phone is in the pocket it is received automatically without clicking the receiving mode on the screen OR when u click anywhere on the screen it receives…..help me guys have gone to the settings and no help or solution
