TECNO Boom J8 Officially Launched in Kenya

TECNO Mobile Kenya officially launched the TECNO Boom J8 on Saturday. There was a party which we (you included) were all invited for on 2nd April. It was also the first TECNO Brand Day and people got free refreshments, bluetooth speakers and even fare back home.

Anyway. We’ve been waiting for the Boom J8 if you’ve been reading this site. Remember we even speculated on what the phone would come with on this post here. And we learnt that it’d be the first phone from TECNO to run their new HiOS. I will be talking about HiOS in the coming week to highlight everything new there is to enjoy (or not) from TECNO’s new ecosystem.

This phone follows up the TECNO Boom J7 from last year, their first in their music series of phones. The Boom J8 promises better specifications, and an even better design.

The Boom J7 was a uniquely designed phone that captured many hearts. TECNO promises this to be the most popular recently launched phone for the coming months. It is TECNO’s first phone in 2016.

The phone specs include:

  • 5.5 inch HD Screen
  • 2GB RAM
  • 13MP back camera, 5MP front camera both with flash
  • 3000mAh battery
  • Supports 4G/LTE
  • TECNO’s HiOS on top of Android 5.1

People also get the Boom Headphones by TECNO. I really hope these sound amazing.

From the images being shared on social media by people who already have the phone, it is one beautiful device. I can’t wait to have one and give a full review.

What would you want to know about the phone? A full camera review? A full music experience post?

I think I got most of my expectations/rumours right. You tell me what you expected vis-a-vis what we have. Because apart from Android 6.0 Marshmallow (which I am sure will be an OTA update), most of the things I wrote in my expectations are right.

Read the first look and impressions of the Boom J8 and the Boom Headphones from TechArena. They say the phone is even better built when compared to the TECNO Phantom 5. Well…
